I have had pa since Feb 2010, just lately I have been getting terrible pains in my knee joint which shoots down my shin, it makes my ankle feel tight like my socks are tight, my knee feels sore like it would if I had fallen over and scraped it, it hurts to bend my leg. there is no swelling, is this a side effect of pa, I am also type 2 diabetic. thanks

Help
Lam143 I too get weird aches and pains, sometimes its my elbow and goes down to my wrist, its aches for days then subsides ? I get the elbow to wrist aches the most, but have had lower leg pain and aches and also its a wierd type of sensation and hard to explain the actual type of discomfort you feel, my elbow pain is back at the moment, and the leg pain sometimes goes into the foot, I too am type 2 diabetic, but only borderline so I was told, also Vitamin B1 (thiamine) is good for type 2 assisting with the carbs and sugar turnover carbs etc are not turned to sugar as quick it slows it down in the body. (have a look ), my BG levels have been very good since taking 150mg tablet of B1 daily and also I have no mozzy bites either ( I live in Spain) as mozzys dont like thiamine B1 .... Good luck, I know how you feel..
Thanks, good to know its not just me defiantly gonna look not the B1 thanks for the tip.
Nerve damage caused by PA isn't selective, it can affect any part of the body, in this case your knee. This is very common and nothing to worry about. However, you may not be receiving enough B12 to repair that nerve damage, which is a worry, because it'll only get worse and manifest in other parts of the body. If you're on the standard treatment of three monthly injections, request more frequent injections.
Best Wishes,
Ken.
