HiI self inject twice a week or more if I have a busy week
Ferritin is on the low side so I am now taking iron tablets
I am topping up my vit D
As far as I know my folate is good
However I have hideous restless legs that weirdly affects my body also and more so the right side. It feels a little like sciatica in my right leg and then pain from my feet all the way up to my head.
The pain can feel like a mix of joint/muscle and restless legs pain. All sounds a bit bizarre i know.
My Dr feels I have fibromyalga but I didn't want to take the diagnosis just yet and would rather improve my pain if I can. I have the usual fatigue and brain for too.
Can anyone relate? I'm thinking of going every other day with my injections.
Perhaps it takes a while for the Ferritin to raise also?
Any help, advice and opinions welcome.

So sorry to hear you’re suffering like this, interestingly my right hand side of my body tends to show symptoms more than the left.
I don’t know how long you are into self treatment but I would want to exclude it being a B12 issue too before accepting an alternative explanation.
When I get restless legs I use a magnesium rub on the soles of me feet and my calves and I take a magnesium supplement - that helps my restless leg and painful soles of feet to ease. The challenge as you know is that resolving a deficiency issue takes time. So perhaps focus on B12 and supplements over Christmas and review in the New Year?
Ferritin is a measure of the amount of iron in your cells. You will have lots of leg pain and restless legs with low ferritin. I take Prilosec which has the effect also of lower iron absorption. look for an iron supplement called fumerate. much easier on your body and absorbs well. it wasn't until I found that , that I was able to increase my ferritin to 50 or over. That's the level leg pains and spasms starts to consistently settle down. I use Nature's Nectar iron booster. and I haven't had as much problem. Part of the legs is iron but the other part is nerved damage from low B12.
I shall look into that. I had a bit of a light bulb moment today. I have been taking regular codiene for pain but stopped it a week ago and that is when my restless legs intensified. I read it could be codiene withdrawal. I guess the next few weeks will tell
Hi, I do not have b12 deficiency but I do have a folate and iron deficiency. My Restless legs were unbearable however since I started on the folic acidcand iron they have settled. I also take vit d. I'm waiting for spinal surgery and was on amitriptyline but came off it for a while but started it back a few weeks ago and I find that helps with the leg pain too. Hope this helps
Thank you. I too take amitriptyline and kind my pain can increase a little about an hour after I have taken it which I always found weird. I also have prolapsed discs but not severe enough for surgery which I'm thankful for. I'm in iron now so maybe I will get some relief in a few weeks.
