Starting Self Administering B12 Soon

Hi, I have just spent 3 hours wasted time at the hospital as I have been suffering with pins and needles all over my body and brain fog for the past week and wanted it investigated. I am unable to get an appointment at the surgery and they suggested I went to the Adult Emergency Centre who have referred me back to my GP, so I have given up trying that route. I am on 8 weekly B12 injections at my surgery. I am convinced that I need to have my B12 more frequently but as the surgery can only administer them every 8 weeks, I have ordered some Phials from Amazon.de - it was very easy on there to do so as everything was in English.

My question is can someone give me a link to the correct needles I need to order and I am wondering how often I should self administer between surgery visits or is it just a question of trial and error?

Thanks for your help.

Are you going to do IM or Sc ( subcutaneous injections? At home .?You need ;

A sharps box

Ampouie cutter optional

Alcohol wipes optional

Syringes 2ml

Compatible with needles.

A drawing up needle say 21G 1"

For subcutaneous injections.

27-30G 1/2 " needles.

Are suitable.

For IM 23-26G suitable 1"

The surgery use 23G 1" needles

Perhaod try monthly ?

Your surgery can prescribe and administer more .

Usually needing a specialist opinion .

They can get this by emailing for advice.

I've just been through this and presently retain my 2 weekly prescription.

2 at home 1 at the surgery 6 weekly with the prescription.

I also buy my own.

Keep a diary to track symptom relief

Thank you for your info. I plan on injecting in belly or thigh (although I do have bursitis so probably not a good idea). Where would you order them from or can you buy in chemists in UK?

Thanks for taking the time to answer all my questions. Once I am up and running and doing regular SI, plus my GP 8 weekly, I will write about my experience of supplementing with additional injections and whether it has made a difference.

Just reading up about the Sharps Box you mention. How would I dispose of it?

Ours I'd through the council. Outsourced. Some chemists true them.

It'd different in every area.

I woikd start with the council .
