Thanks Wedgwood,

The doctor wouldn’t issue another injection until a further blood test. After having loading dose in July.

So I’m not hanging around.

Many thanks for your help

You don't need a blood test once you start treating. Their rules.I just politely & firmly refused, quoting NICE guidelines and the waste of money, and asked for my injection. They didn't really know what to do with me. I got my injection. I continue to SI inbetween.

hi, I am also looking to start SI with subcutaneous injections. Just so I understand the micro lance green - is that to act as a withdrawal needle and the yellow is to inject? Thanks and sorry if this is a stupid question!

It’s not a stupid question . To withdraw, you can pretty well choose any needle , but it should be 1 1/2 inches long so that it is easy to use . I use a coarse needle of about 19G ( the coarser the needle , the lower the G number ) It’s a bit quicker to withdraw with a coarser needle obviously. Or you can choose an actual withdrawing needle which is blunt . These are a bit more expensive, and even more expensive with a filter —look for “blunt fill needle “ .

The injection needle for an Intramuscular injection ( I.M. ) should be nice and fine say 25G x 1inch , which is orange , 26G x 1inch which is brown or if you want to inject subcutaneously, a very fine needle -30G x 1/2 inch which is yellow.

Hope this is helpful . Best wishes .
