When I saw the dr at the Cambridge blood clinic I was told to get my b12 from a company in Germany. But it’s 30 degrees most days over there the last two weeks or not far off that, and quite hot here also. I messaged them over a week ago to discuss this but they have not replied.
So how do I guarantee that at no point the B12 is subjected to too high a temperature? I’d hate to buy hundreds and be injecting for months and it be pointless. Or go through this reversing out only to drop low and have to do it twice.
I tried throwing myself on the gps mercy but sadly despite a letter from the dr who diagnosed they won’t recognise that diagnosis and say I passed the PA test. 😡

You have to think along the lines with your GP practice as being a parent and asking your child’s secondary school that they must start teaching Ancient Greek. It is not going to happen with regards to PA/B12. You have met Plato (in Cambridge), very sadly, Socrates (Dr Joseph Chandy) died in the winter of last year. Yet, Epicurus, Pythagoras, Aristotle, Heraclitus, Democritus still continue to eagerly work away.
Yes, we are going to be mocked and scorned by the traditionalists because of the politics, bureaucracy and money involved. Your Clinical Commissioning Group has a Chief Executive and an Executive board of Directors. It is commerce. Me, I own an ironing board but never use it.
Some people, fly to a particular group of islands off the coast of West Africa which has a maximum recorded temperature of 42.6 degrees Centigrade and load up on Hydroxycobalamin or cyanocobalamin then fly back to wherever.
Your order will generally arrive at your doorstep from Germany within 5 days. It clears HM Customs & Excise and it will be in a courier van. What temperatures are the cabins and holds of aeroplanes ? At what temperature does Hydroxycobalamin and cyanocobalamin denature ? How long does it take to being exposed to those temperatures does denaturing occur ?
Easiest thing with Hydroxycobalamin and cyanocobalamin to see if it’s still Best Before is to look at its bright red colour. When it looses its colour then it’s not so good. When its meniscus (the curve of a liquid produced by surface tension) is hinky - meh. Its viscosity (consistency) is not dissimilar to water. If it’s cloudy it’s pretty rubbish.
Hydroxycobalamin and cyanocobalamin are very similar to Mogwais. They do not like UV light exposure. Your delivery will come in a sealed box.
I certainly know what gremlin means in Computer Science. FYI, it is a functional, data-flow language which enables users to concisely express complex traversals on (or queries of) their application's property graph.
Shock, horror, a female mathematician who happens to be medically qualified.
There have been lots of posts and replies on this subject in the past so you can look them up.
Basically heat is much, much less of a problem than UV light, so if the ampoules have been kept dark in their boxes they should be OK.
The NHS ones won't be any better - they don't make any special effort to keep them cool in transit or storage.
I always keep spare ones in my car, in case I ever forget to do a jab, and when I use these up periodically as part of my stock control, they are always fine.
I've been injecting daily for 9 years and it's always been the case.
I had to bite the bullet and order some yesterday. Just hope it all gets here on time. Ordered enough to get me through summer and intend a bigger order winter time.
I am trying. Sadly some of my symptoms seem worse although I am told that may be reversing out. I’m to sick to really go out at the moment. Have been since just before I started the eod injections over a month ago. Praying that I get back to normal, but also a bit scared I will be stuck like this.
You might find something helpful in my replies to people over the years?

I'd got to the stage where I could barely walk or talk, no memory, almost always asleep.
10 years on I don't participate on here much as I'm too busy! I'm self-employed and work lots of hours and have a horse and do things for my village and community and all sorts!
With enough B12, supporting vitamins and minerals, and determination it's amazing what's possible!
I'm 10 years older and have mounting other health issues but I am doing more and improving despite these, year on year!
Believe that you can and you will!
It took me 4 years of daily SI before I could even talk fluently. I couldn't ride a bike for a couple of years because I wasn't able to balance at all. Now I can ride without holding the handlebars.
I've totally lost the first 2 years where I had no memory function but now I can rely on my memory!
I've been driving the trailer tonight, helping to set up for our village garden party in the grounds of the Rectory. Sadly I'll miss it, doing donkey rides elsewhere tomorrow, but I have to earn my keep!
How's your mouth/tongue?
My dentist (absolute star and the reason I'm still alive because he sent me for my initial B12 investigation) dxd mine as oral lichen planus and it flares with bouts of inflammation of my small intestine.
My pancreas was so bad in October that I had to stop eating completely for several days, several times, and when I did my tongue went back to normal. Unfortunately I can't survive on clear fluids only for very long.
It's particularly bad at the moment as I had a savage flare 5 weeks ago and I haven't managed get it to stop swelling without anti-inflammatories since. This week I've used steroids and it's been great - but it's really bad again tonight, now I've stopped them.
Thanks, this could be really useful to me, Denise, because after a very long wait, I have an appointment in a few days regarding biopsy. Several abscesses years ago have left me with a soft lump in palate, but managed to save a whole row of teeth from an eager young dentist. Now looks like I'll lose one of them anyway - no biggie.
Tongue still burns at sides where it touches back of teeth and too big - an x-ray abandoned, as tongue could not be depressed sufficiently ! Had to have an ultrasound instead.
Was told at last appointment that my burning tongue was due to irreversible nerve damage. So have just put up with it - not the worst of symptoms.
Small intestine inflammation: how is that discovered ? I have been to three gastroenterologists and they've ruled out Coeliac etc and ended up with IBS - GP kept sending me to another one because she was aware that this was insufficient info, but kept getting the same answer !
Certainly worth looking into. How was oral lichen planus arrived at for you ? I have had several cultures looked for - candida, streptococcus - over years and nothing found. No dentist though since lockdown - really difficult to get one here. I will look it up and see.
I'm always so grateful to you for your excellent input, advice and guidance for people - you always do such a great job for everyone.
It's always a battle: migraines, bad guts, unreliable ticker, dodgy hormones, etc, but the "easy" bit is the PA - daily jabs are so quick and easy and then forgotten about until tomorrow: everything else is hassle!
All the best to you! xx
PS I'm "going home" to Essex tomorrow - doing donkey rides at the Tendring Show, where I grew up.
Only the best! 😜😁I'm a genuine blonde Essex girl... which is probably where I get my PA genetics from - it's known in Saxon genetics and I definitely have other Saxon traits.
I did my family tree on my mums side and she and therefore i am related to the Normans De Lacy family that came over in the Norman conquest. Before that Viking that fought with Rollo the Ganger that sacked Paris
I know this isn't helpful now, but I always order enough B12 during the cool spring weather to last me through early fall. It helps that my B12 comes from Canada where it's always a few degrees cooler than where I live. We've had weeks of temperatures in the high 90's (Fahrenheit) and the humidity only makes it worse.
