I live in the U.S. but am considering a move to Ireland. Can anyone tell me what the protocol is for B12 injections there? I currently have my husband give me injections as needed, purchasing the ampoules online. Is it possible to purchase injectable B12 and syringes over the counter in Ireland?
B12 availability in Ireland? - Pernicious Anaemi...
B12 availability in Ireland?
If it's not possible then you can always buy hydroxocobalamin ampoules online from Germany.
Pretty sure it isn't available over the counter in Eire. certainly not OTC in Northern Ireland, but as fbirder says you can import for personal use eg from EU countries where it is OTC - German on-line pharmacies being a common choice
Just buy them from mycare.de
No not in the UK, b12 is for prescription only. If I need a tip up i buy from abroad like Spain and Germany on there pharmacy it's pretty good. They like to monitor your b12 hear so becarful if your levels are too high as they will stick you on a b12 holiday.
Hello. Yes with a doctor’s prescription. I have a great Dutch doctor and her prescription works fine. It’s also possible to buy ampoules and syringes online.
Hello cdragin. I live in Ireland and was amazed when my local chemist filled Dutch doctor’s prescription for B12 ampoules. They even gave me a few (unsuitable) needles 💉 to get me started.
A nurse friend was a great help in teaching me how to self inject and getting my set up with syringes etc.
so I recon if you have a prescription, you’ll be fine.
Incidentally my Dutch doctor recommended that I buy Hervert 1,000mg ampoules online. Let me know if I can help you with this. However again, initially I needed her prescription to buy these.
