I sure did put the cat amongst the pigeons with my letter to my endocrinologist. I just recieved this email from my surgery..........
Thank you for discussing your concerns today. I am sorry we were not able to provide the timely care you indicated you needed on the phone. As next steps we will:
-Organise home blood tests, which I have written on to ask lab not to process b12......... I had refused tests because they were insisting on checking my B12 despite my being on injections !
-Visit on 17th June, around midday, but I will call to inform............ If I have to make an appointment to be seen thats if you can get through on the damned phone, they can do the same.
-Expedite ENT to see you with request for Mr Waddle......... I am 73yrs young, had three falls due to fluid in my middle ear and vertigo yet I have had to insist the referal be expidited !
-Levothyroxine dose is now 100mcg and our pharmacy technicians are reviewing this in light of Dossett. Whoopee, I only had to bash him around the head with a baseball bat to get him to listen! I am smiling from ear to ear - but why should our health have to decline and we have to go to such lengths to be heard ? ? ?
-Finally, Shingles vaccine. We have non live vaccine only now and can give the 2 doses , 6 months apart. Called Shingrix. I am housebound, have low immunity but the vaccine was refused me due to having to send a nurse out ! Amazingly after putting a rocket up their rears and making a complaint my vaccine has now been warrented !
Somebody come along and wipe this smile from face it's beginning to make my jaw ache. ๐คฃ

My Dr actually rang me ! He is coming out to see me to discuss my issues, now that will be fun because I have a few. The shingles injection they refused me because they couldn't get a nurse out he is going to administer his self ! Why he couldn't do that in the first place is beyond me. And he has esculated a pending appointment to urgent ( well done Doc for doing your job. )
It gets tiresome having to chase all the time but hey ho I got results. ๐
I often find written stuff much easier to get all my ducks in a row and remove my emotional reaction from the table. I think Iโll take a page from your book!
I had been suffering excruciating pain 'a bit like a tooth ache but in all joints.' It was horendous and resorted to hemp oil to try and get relief, it helped !
Now tooth ache makes most of us grumpy, put that with crawling around at snails pace then we dont function and tend to hit out. I couldn't get through to the damned surgery for love or money so wrote the manager. It was a case of bl---y well take that and that as well you swines. ๐
You take as many pages a you need, dont forget to throw in heart that tends to get the b------s moving,
Glad to hear you have an unwipeable smile after this successful letter.
I am sitting waiting for a return phonecall to get an appointment for a biopsy, for which I was phone-triaged at the beginning of March, despite this being an internal transfer from September 2023.....>sigh< ..... yet you still made me laugh !
Also great to see that clivealive is still giving us corny one-liners, too.
Dont start me off on appointments - December and January I had invasive proceedures on both my gut and bowel. I also had an MRI and ultra sound where they spotted something as yet not identified ! The consultant is going to carry out a capsule swallow which his secretary informed me had been arranged. Nearly six months later I find out the proceedure hasn't been booked. ๐คฌ I am furious.
Our Clive is amazing, he is an insperation to us all.
I am very glad to hear that your efforts produced such good results. Well done!I spent two heartbreaking years and more fighting to get the care for my elderly parents. It was like banging my head on a wall.
At one point they insisted I take my Dad to the surgery although it meant leaving Mum at home alone. Unbeknown to us and totally missed by all the GPs my Dad had encephalitis and passed away from it about 6 weeks later.
The best care we had was from specsavers!!
They sent my Dad to optical A and E where they could see nothing wrong and didn't send him instead to medical but home again.
Sadly both my parents have now passed away but fighting and fighting to get them care was exhausting.
I am so glad you succeeded and you did make me chuckle...super!
I wouldn't go as far as getting the care I need but a nurse came out today to take blood ! Thats what they said to me 'come to the surgery' if only I could!
It's infuriating having to battle with these damned plonkers all the time. ๐ค
