advice.Hello friends. I have been supplementing B12 for some time. But since getting a recent blood test done. I noticed that my Ferritin and Folate were a bit low in range.Ferritin. 166ng/ml [30-26] Folate >20ng/ml [>3.9]. Do you think it would be ok to supplement? If so, please advise on what to supplement with please?Thank you

Bit confused 😕 Your results look high not low?
Gosh your ferritin looks very good. I wouldn’t supplement anymore iron with that level.
Can you check the ferritin ref range, 30-26 is wrong
With folate and a range such as >3.9, it’s often suggested we aim to achieve double figures. Yours is well into double figures
Thank you. I appreciate your reply but I've interpreted it wrong.
You’ve interpreted what wrong? My reply?
Your ferritin reference range should look something like 30-150 if you’re female, you’ve quoted 30-26
Please have another look at your post: the results and ranges do not look right together.
Here is an example of folate and ferritin results below with ranges - mine at their lowest, although neither were out of range :
SERUM FOLATE: 5.5 ug/L (range: 4.6 - 18.7 ug/L )
SERUM FERRITIN: 36 ug/L (range: 13 - 150 ug/L )
My GP gave me three months supplements of both, soon after starting B12 deficiency, as my hair was still falling out and gums bleeding. Both were then monitored regularly - and so I was advised when to supplement and when to stop. GP said that a ferritin level below 60 can give symptoms, later an Oral medicine consultant ( for burning tongue and angular cheilitis) told me he would prefer my level to be 80+. Both ferritin and folate were very erratic for a couple of years, and even now can be "blippy". ( Ideally both should continue to be monitored.)
Recheck your medical records. You can either alter your post if necessary or start a new post if the information you have posted above turns out to be incorrect.
Thank you. I will do that.
