Hi everyone, has anyone bought a Hydroxocobalamin ampoules kit from Etsy and did they manage to buy them without prescription?

I honestly would not touch them with the proverbial barge pole !

B12 ampoules are only obtainable for medical purposes in U.K. with a prescription.

I went on Etsy and saw that the prices were outrageous . You are not told what type of b12 they are selling . or where they are manufactured.

They are sold by private individuals.

If you need B12 ampoules , do get them from a reliable source .On this forum we get B12 depot ( Hydroxocobalamin as used in NHS ) from reliable German online pharmacies . B12 ampoules are an over the counter item in Germany . No prescription required Will send you details if you need them

Needles , syringes etc can be obtained from U.K. medical supply companies.

Yes it’s safe and easy to get single use B12 depot ampoules ( Hydroxocobalamin) from excellent German online Pharmacies. I’ve been using them since 2014, and they have always been so good .

Our favourite brand called Panpharma is mostly out of stock at the moment. It is the best value . But all the other ones are excellent also , just a bit more expensive . I have chosen to use the Pascoe Hydroxocobalamin ampoules , as I like injecting 1ml . Anyhow — have a look — here is the lowdown .

First of all register with the pharmacy .

When filling out the address form, you will see that the country is already filled out with Deutschland / Germany .You must first change that to your own country by using the drop-down list to — U.K., United Kingdom , Vereinigtes Königreich — however it is expressed.Do this so that your post-code and the rest of your address is accepted . Otherwise,you will be unable to order , and you will be tearing your hair out

amazon.de also sell Pascoe and Hevert . But depending on the supplying pharmacy, may or may not supply to the U.K. You can’t use the Pharmaceutical reference numbers to order from amazon.de . You must use the brand names .

The Pascoe are much cheaper per packet if you buy the offer of 10 packets . If you inject weekly or more frequently, you will be covered . Otherwise , the ampoules may become out of date .

Use the Pharmaceutical Reference numbers to order from the pharmacies, it’s easier , but not if buying from amazon.de

The above brands also produce Cynocobalamin B12 single use ampoules. They are cheaper than Hydroxocobalamin., but reputed not to stay in the system as long. Fine to use as long as the patient does not suffer from the rare eye-condition called LEBERS. Cynocobalamin is widely used in the USA. I do not have the Pharmaceutical reference numbers for the Cynocobalamin ampoules.. Cynocobalamin is referred to as vitamin B12. Hydroxocobalamin is referred to as vitamin B12 depot.

Now that the U.K. has left the EU , there is a limit to the value of goods that we can order before tax is due .Tax is applicable if the value exceeds £135.00 ( roughly €158.00) Value does include delivery cost . On top of that , Royal Mail charges £8.00 for handling

Thank you so much Wedgewood 🙏, that's going to be so helpful, I'm really not coping with.just the three monthly jabs and will also now be able to get my bloods result to see if I'm definitely PA. ( The doctor just said it was due to age ) altho I've been on beta blockers for arrythmias and also on thyroid meds for years since having chemo.It seems covid may have caused the PA tho' as the nurse said they have had many more needing B12 than before the pandemic

Meant to mention that B12 injectable ampoules are an over the counter item in Germany — So no prescription needed . You can inject either IM or sub-cutaneously .

I too went across to Etsy to see what they were offering etc. Quite horrified by the pricing, and lack of transparency. I always believed Etsy to be a marketplace for artisan, homemade craft items, and this surely doesn't fit that category. I know Etsy has been flagged up quite recently selling B12, and I have contacted Etsy to ask them why a medical device is being sold on a craft and artisan website. Still waiting to hear from them, not even an acknowledgement of the enquiry which was made about 2 weeks ago.

I ordered the Etsy b12 hydroxocobalamin it arrived today, and is from German pharmacy called Pascoe, which has been around for a very long time, 1895.

You are OK with Pascoe Excellent German brand . Were they Hydroxocobalamin or Cynocobalamin ? I’m curious as to what they cost !

They are hydroxocobalamin, they £37, I am going to. Inject it every month apart from the months the nurse does it. Hope it does the trick, my memory is shot, my hands, are hurting, skin itching and burning, etc..

The recommendation for you would be to inject everyother day until there is no more improvement in symptoms. On the forum we all use German online pharmacies , or Amazon.de , which you would find cheaper if you bought 100 pack of Pascoe b12 depot Hydroxocobalamin. Information on this you will find earlier in this post if you scroll back . Best wishes for a full recovery . Also do take a folic acid tablet daily . Say a modest 400 mcg . It works together with b12 .

I wouldn't buy from them. You don't know where they are from. Buy from a German online pharmacy, they are all regulated so it's guaranteed to be safe. A lot cheaper as well.

Loads available in germany and choice. . . . . Wedgewood does have a good list of pharmacies and you can also look amazon.de where more or less the same pharmacies appear . . . . I like the amazon service. . . . .

As far as I could see on closer examination , the ampoules on offer were Cynocobalamin, not Hydrocobalamin. .

I’ve purchased methyl from etsy. It’s in Hindi and I’m able to translate it. Yes it expensive but I only use them when I’ve run out of methyl. My cousin who is a pharmacist in India is shipping them to me often, but I use Etsy when I’ve run out and awaiting my cousins delivery
