short life on B12 ampoules

Just a warning, I have received an order from Arzneiprivat.de and although the delivery was quick the use by date on them is June 2022 only 11 months. So now got at least 3 boxes I won't be able to use, unless some one can assure me its ok to use after the use by date. Most suppliers give at least 2yrs and some more, so very disappointed with the company won't be using them again

Yeah, it's something to look out for. People who don't inject frequently will end up wasting money.

And even if you do inject frequently, it's not like the company knew that when they sent the stuff out there.

Thank you for mentioning this.

I ordered some from Amazon.de in March and the use by date was 11.2023 so feel a bit cheated

Yes I would feek cheated. as cheaper to bu a 100 at a time and in advance as uncertainty at so don't run out!!I haven't needed to order some sincec problems started so thankyou.

I supposes nothing we can really do .

Apart from alert others like you have done

The NHS have short dates as cheaper to buy in

As if it's not cheap enough !!

Counterproductive as my mum recently had 4 out of date.

Fortunately they were as wedged at the back of the fridge frozen!!

Now only prescribing one ampoule.

Something elses to chase every time due so there when district nurses arrives .

Not sure why the nurses can't take what she/he needs as you woukd in a surgery havevit all organised fir clinic session.

Many wasted calls if the prescription not in the home on time.

It happened to me with pharma24.de . I complained , but they rejected my complaint saying that 6 months use-by date is acceptable ,and I had 1 year ( I’d ordered 100 ampoules as I need to inject weekly . ). In 6 years I’ve always had over 2years in which to use the ampoules . I didn’t want to inject out of date ampoules , as they probably are safe but losing their potency . This forum frowns on us trying to sell on ampoules or even giving them away . So one is stuck with them . It’s maddening .

This has never happened with BODFELD — Has always sent ampoules with over 2years use-by date . It is one of the 10 largest German online pharmacies , probably having a huge turn over . But Bodfeld now insists on U.K. customers paying by Bank transfer . I’ve now mastered that !

Giving away ampoules of B12 isn't illegal - its a perfectly moral thing to do and we should set up a group to do just that.

I agree because there must be people out there that struggle to pay for them and I for one would be happy to help

I do agree with you 100% . But I remember someone offering packets of B12 ampoules not long ago and an administrator intervened to stop it .

I wonder what the reasoning was

I think that it’s because , in the U.K. , B12 ampoules are a prescription only medication for treatment of an illness ( egPA) But they are not prescription only if offered for anti-ageing or beauty purposes . ! Prescription only items must not be passed on to anyone for whom they are not prescribed

the stupidity of it all, no wonder people get frustrated.Perhaps we have to pretend we are Beauty Therapists (I was in a former life), then we can give them to who ever wants to look 10yrs younger ..... what a farce isn't it

Then theoretically, if you bought a box for 'beauty purpose' you could gift it?

I assume so ! The situation is ridiculous ! Reminds me of Alice in Wonderland .

in theory yes, but they cost more than 3 times as much when sold for aesthetic reasons. The last time I saw a beauty therapist offering the treatment she was asking £30 for it

It’s worse than a farce . It costs people’s health . Loads of people suffering from not getting injections often enough , who don’t know about this society or forum , are struggling with P.A. for the lack of a cheap vitamin injection
