b12 injections after spinal cord surgery

I thought this might be of interest. A bonus effect of treating my pernicious anaemia.

I had an appointment today with my neurologist, I’m three weeks post op for cervical spine laminectomy to decompress my spinal cord. We were discussing my progress and new neurological symptoms following the operation. Talking about my other conditions and the B12 protocol I’m following of EOD.

He said that the B12 will help my recovery and the spinal cord damage to heal. But I will get worse before I get better. It will take a year to find my new level, from this surgery . I won’t be cured as it’s degenerative disease but can be stable for a while.

Pleased your operation went well.I've just completed a practitioners course called the ten footsteps to living well with pain.

Have a look on the live well with pain website for lots of information.

I read a paper a couple of years ago where scientists were exploring B12 as an alternative to none addictive pain medication.

Wishing you a speedy recovery.

the strange part is, I’ve never had pain in my neck, just a bit creaky and stiff.

My lower back has had issues, but I put that down to lifting heavy stuff and having one leg shorter than the other following a thigh break as a kid. Any pain always followed an awkward lift or twist or jarring.

Good news!

I did spinal surgery back in 2013, c5-6 fusioned because of degeneration with pain. Much approved and back to full time work in a year.

Last year I have been struggling with B12 def, and this mysterious ,nonunderstandable way of not giving people injections. I feel a lot better, I think actually that I have defiency since many years. And giong thruogh spinal surgery with defiency made my recovery longer than necessary. So I am glad you have b12 and wish you a good recovery, in good circonstantions with treatement with B12.

sadly the surgery will only keep me stabile and won’t make me better, I’ve also got so much damage now, that anything they do is basically just trying to keep it from progressing . My other conditions don’t help either, as they can affect the spine bone density.
