At the moment, as far as I am aware, it is just speculation that the NHS will stop injections. However, the biggest cost to a Practice is the nurse appointment. Therefore, it might be worth patients considering approaching their surgery and asking to be taught to self-inject.

Also, in the U.K. as opposed to other European countries, Hydroxycobalamin is a Prescription Only Medication which was decided by the Medicines Healthcare products Regulatory Agency.

Ms T Witty campaigns to have this changed to Over the Counter. A debate in the House of Commons occurred on 2 November 2020. I listened to it and read the transcript. Unfortunately, the information discussed (supposed medical facts) were not accurate. However, I did find it very interesting that the cases were ALL women and so too were the M.P.s.
