I’m travelling to the US. Anything I should know about bringing in B12 SI supplies. And can I buy them there? Thanks.

I suggest that you make sure you have your prescription for B12 with you in case anyone asks. B12 injection is available by Rx only in the states, so make sure you bring enough for the duration of your trip. Cyano can be ordered from Canadian pharmacies with no Rx required if needed if you will be here that long. Same for Hydroxo, but I have to order from Germany due to a shortage from US suppliers. I doubt you will run into any difficulties at Customs but it's best to prepared. I have never had an issue or been asked for my Rx when traveling. Where are you going while in the states? Have a wonderful trip.

Florida. So sounds the same as travelling anywhere else, thanks.

Hi MrsTuft,

I had a letter from my private GP for all my paraphernalia including Hydroxycobalamin which was thoroughly checked by U.K. security. Or as scnuke said a prescription. I was not going to USA though.

I must add that the person checking said their partner also had B12D. I do hope you have a lovely time.

Thank you - not all of use have the support of a doctor, but I can prove I get the standard injections on the NHS. I've never been stopped anywhere so far.

Schnuke nailed it.

I've traveled all over and no one has checked or had any problem with supplies but I always have b12 and supplies and letter from doc with me.

Where in the states?

I'm in US and concur with scnuke. I do travel internationally occasionally but I've never been asked about my B12 by customs at either destination or upon my return. I do carry my prescription just in case though.Maybe try what Narwhal10 suggested in getting a letter from your GP?

Safe travels, Rexz
