The saga continues Daughters Bloods

So previously

healthunlocked.com/pasoc/po...

had discussion today with the GP who is dealing with daughter, was actually in there with youngest. After youngest was dealt with we discussed where we were up to with older girl.

I was a bit taken aback, I was already for a Free and Frank discussion, when she stole my thunder. Apologised for her misunderstanding about the rapid access clinic, she had hoped daughter would be seen this week. Then she said she was organising repeat bloods, Intrinsic factor B12 folate and ESR. Then the pièce de résistance , is organising B12 injections , never expected that. Asked if we would be ok with referrals to dieticians etc and we agreed, re lipids and HBA1c.

Here's hoping 🤞

Thank goodness Polo22,

Mark it on a calendar, time, date, name of doctor, GP Surgery :-

Plan :-

Daughter 1 or 2 (Sorry, I am confused).

1) Organising repeat bloods, Intrinsic factor, B12, folate and ESR, lipids and HBA1c.

2) 1mg/ml of Hydroxycobalamin I.M.

3) Referral to Dietician.

Then in diary, you add :-

1) Time, date, name of phlebotomist and check that IF, B12, Folate, ESR, lipids and HBA1c have been taken and anything else.

2) Time, date and by whom each Hydroxycobalamin I.M. Ensuring 2 weeks of Every Other Day of Loading doses.

3) Time, date, Name of Dietician and name of Clinic or Hospital.

Let us just say, in the NHS paperwork goes missing.

You can come along with a File with Daughter’s NHS Number and Date of Birth, give all this Information and then say, oh dear, you are not very good at the General Data Protection Regulation (2018) are you. So, you will have the upper hand.

😉

It was 15 year old daughter ( actually child no 6) 😂. Think I need to print out the B12 treatment protocol as I can see that being a sticking point , that's a brilliant idea about folder, will be doing that 👍😊. Need to have notes on what is an acceptable level B12 and not the silly NHS ref range.

I found out by accident other day that they have now employed a pharmacist at the surgery and we all know how that works so will need to be onpoint.

Daughter 6, Wow and Congratulations.

Anyone who walks into a Doctor’s Office with a File is taken much more seriously. Go as far as dividers, then have the B12 treatment Protocol in, either Front or Back, easy to reach.

Simple questions such as Dr x said they were making a referral to a Dietician, can you tell me when that was undertaken and on what date please ? Thank you so much. It is a bit of work but you will be surprised at the reaction of others when you can give times, dates and brief details.

X

This is wonderful news, having your GP on board. Difficult enough, all this.
