Daughter has been getting some treatment IM from GP surgery. They have retested her bloods a few times following start of treatment despite being advised again and again it is not advised. I'll add links to previous post
So despite being initially being hopeful things have continued to deteriorate. I am really concerned for her health and safety. She did poorly at what exams school entered her for and was devastated that her plans to try and move forward had been thwarted. I am so proud of her, despite everything she has tried to carry on and move forward. She went on her own and enrolled at college to try and improve her grades to get onto a course to work with animals/vet nurse , first of my 7 children who seemed to have a plan at 16.
She hasn't mange to attend all her hours at college despite trying so hard. Yesterday we called into surgery to try and get help to sign up to MyGP app to help with results and things and got her last lot of blood results from September. She was supposed to be getting 8 weekly jabs, when we turned up for injection we were told she had to have her blood tested again before jab and injection was put back , ended up just short of 10 weeks before she got it. Lo and behold, when we went apparently bloods were good ? and told to come back just before Christmas for next, so now 12 weekly. I tried to argue but daughter had the trembling lip and looked at me , with the pleading to just leave look.
So got last results yesterday, initially told oh all good/fine and we insisted we wanted print out. Took one look at it and told them no that's not normal or good it's in range. It went strangely quiet. So now serum B12 is 484 ng/L ref 197-771 Folate >20 ug/L 3.9-26.8 .
Have sent email to Gp with concerns, re inadequate treatment regime, links to relevant guidelines and sent copy of it to Cheshire and Merseyside ICB with a request for clarity on who to contact with concerns of poor/inadequate treatment and currents guidelines ,,

Some forum members have posted their B12 deficiency stories on Care Opinion website.
Care Opinion collect people's good and bad health experiences. I don't know at what age people can post stories. GP surgeries and hospitals sometimes respond.
Is her GP aware that inadequate treatment increases the risk of developing permanent neurological damage. In severe B12 deficiency the spinal cord may be affected. This can sometimes happen even when serum B12 is within normal range.
PAS have an article about this that might be worth passing to GP if GP is unaware.
As always thank you for info. Going to gather thoughts over weekend and see if I get any response Monday from GP surgery or ICB. The email to GP and the email to ICB with copy of email was making my position clear, my frustration with lack of appropriate treatment and lack of action, demanding situation is rectified . So unless they've all been lobotomised there is no excuse at all for any misunderstanding about how disappointed I am about the lack of care. So much going on right now, I'm not feeling great, money issues, both older son's accommodation issues, but they have right royally twisted my melons 🤯🤬
Hi would it be possible to pay for a consultation with doctor Klein. My son saw him and he wrote good recommendatiosn to the surgery and started my son who was about the same age as you daughter on self injections. My son like your daughter was not doing well at all in his exams but after self injecting for a couple of months managed to get a couple of Bs in his a levels.
it’s so hard when they are young. My daughter is 22 now but we ended up going down the SI route as she needs around 2 a week to function and be able to go to work every day.
She really didn’t improve till we went down this route. She still has the jab every 12 weeks at the gps but I dread to think how she’d be if that was all she was getting.
