Having trouble ordering b12 as there is apparently a shortage in Australia. Help!!

I am in New Zealand but ordered my B12 from Australia. Without warning, I have just discovered there is a shortage that may go on to as far off as March next year. I am really stressed. Can anyone help with alternatives? I was told Germany did not send to Australia and wondered if NZ was the same. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. x

I have just been online and found that a reputable German online pharmacy will send to New Zealand

shop.apotal.de

You may need to use Google Chrome to get the site translated from German into English Or maybe you have a German friend who could help .

I suggest that you register . You will need to use the drop-down list of countries that they will export to . Both New Zealand and Australia are on there -

You know I’m sure that if you want Hydroxocobalamin B12 , you look for “B12 DEPOT”. “B12 “. just indicates Cynocobalamin. Best wishes .

Hi Wedgewood, I place an order with that pharmacy 7 days ago and the money was taken from my account the next day but there was no verification they had done so .The problem is that they have not communicated with me in any way. I have no idea if the order is on the way. Is this normal? I messaged them for the second time tonight and tried calling but nobody spoke English and they hung up. Have you purchased from them before?. I'm not sure what else I can do. x

Hi Wedgewood, Great news!! I suddenly got a response from the German company for the B12, They are on their way yay!! Apparently they left on Friday and they have sent a tracking number. I also ordered from another company that Troy from NZ suggested and they are also on the was. Thank god! because NZ and Australia will not have any till next March. It makes things very scary when you really need it to survive. Thank you again xxx

I was just opening my iPad to reply to you to say that I have purchased from shop.apotal.de before and all went well . They are an accredited German pharmacy , so all should go well . Yes it is indeed scary if you can’t get your B12.

Best wishes .

Thank you! This is the second time this year that NZ and Aust have run out. I am so thankful that I have the option to order overseas. There will be many people here that will be going without. Which is very sad.

I am in New Zealand too and have been ordering "B12 Depot" from mycare.de/ with no issues. The quickest it arrived was 10 days from ordering but it is normally a little over two weeks

Thanks Troy! I will check it out.

Hi again Troy, I just checked them out . Can you tell me which ones you order please and how you find them? What quantity do you generally order and what is the cost of postage. Thanks again for your help.Very scary finding NZ and Australia are just about out again and won't have any in till next March.

I see wedgewood has already answered most of your question but I can clarify the costs

For a box of 100 Vitamin B12 Depot 1.5mg (PZN: 07568695) from mycare.de I paid €91.55 + €50.41 shipping, therefore €141.96 which equates to $264.19 NZ

This was with a discount but they seem to be discounted quite often. I have paid about 12 euros more but the shipping has stayed the same all year

Hope it all works out for you. it is getting quite frustrating with these shortages

It sure is! Everything about this condition and treatment is so frustrating and unreliable . The pharmacists could give you a heads up when the supplies are about to be unobtainable too you would think. Thanks for your info Troy. I'm keen to see how it ges with our order with wedgewoods suggestion. I will let you know as it worked out cheaper.

Hello Troy, I'm writing from Sydney where I've just learned are is no B12 available anywhere. I'm desperate to secure Hydroxocobalamin injections - I use 2 to 3 per week so need a few boxes. Could you please provide me with details to order from in Germany (or anywhere else for that matter, although I would trust Germany in general). Also any advice to keep costs down - I've read there seems to be a threshold for VAT kicking in. Regards Martin

Have a look at wedgewoods reply below and try one of the german suppliers. I just bought some from nz online chemist. But I don't know if they deliver to Australia. I have seen mixed information about supply in Australia so maybe try a few chemists

Good luck, I feel for you

Thanks Troy, I went on a bit of a rampage in exasperation: called the NSW Minister of Health's Office (and received a call from NSW health offering to help, I called Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) and got a responce from them too. I learned that a so-called Sec 19(a) of TGA Act 'emergency' exemption has been granted (under said legislation) to a Sydney based pharma group to import B12 from Switzerland etc etc... To cut a long story short I already have 10 boxes of product mailed to me from Australian Capital territory this morning - enough to see me through till March. If anyone requires details please contact me , regards Martin

It’s easiest when ordering to use the pharmaceutical reference number ( in German the PZN) which is printed on every pharmaceutical item in Germany . I’ll send you a list of B12 depot brands with their PZN number when i’m up and running ( it’s 4 am here in U.K. !). Even if you don’t need to ever order from Germany , it’s good to know for your peace of mind !

Here are the reference numbers for the B12 depot that you can obtain from the mentioned German online pharmacies . Just use the number to order . You have the names of 2 German pharmacies that deliver to New Zealand and Australia

The following brands are obtainable

Panpharma ( formerly Rotexmedica ) b12 depot 1mg x 1ml ampoule ( depot indicates Hydroxocobalamin) ref no 16199653. This is the most popular ampoule used by PAS members .

It is the best value , but sometimes is out of stock . You can then opt to be emailed to be told when it is back in stock .

Pascoe B12 depot 1.5mg x 1ml ampoules- Packet of 10 ref no 07568672

Pascoe b12 depot 1.5 mg x 1ml ampoules-10 packets of 10 ampoules (100)

Ref no 07568695

Hevert b12 depot 1mg x2ml ampoules packet of 10

Ref no 06078368

Hevert b12 depot 10 packets of 10 ampoules- ( 100)

Ref no 06078380

When filling out your address, do fill in your country first of all . “Germany”: will be displayed , so you must change this with the drop-down list which will appear , — to U.K./ Gross Brittanien/ Vereinigtes Königreich GrossBrttaniens — how ever it may be expressed. If you don’t do this , your U.K. address and post code will not be accepted , and you will end up in a tizzy . We don’t want that !
