Dizziness

I started doing SI EOD recently following great advice from forum members. I saw a different GP at my new surgery last week and she was very helpful. She has referred me to a neurologist but said the waiting time could be more than a year, she has also arranged for me to have a heart monitor 5 day test in January, I have a blood test booked for next week.

I am worried because my symptoms seem to have got worse, especially dizziness, balance and fatigue. My husband wants me to go to A&E but I think I need to give the B12 more time to work. I’m finding it hard to think straight at the moment as I’m not getting much sleep. I would appreciate any advice you can give me.

I got worse before better.Any doubts get checked out.

Or report symptoms to Gp .

May get seen quicker or a brain mri ordered depending on symptoms.

I went to A and E and was told I was having a panic attack .

Not helpful.

BP

Heart monitored .

But did get a brain CT

If you get on with the new G.p stick to her.

Get your b12 prescribed and on your medical notes.

Contact hef if concerned so also on notes.

It's a matter of ruling othef things out .

Keep a log .

Hope you improve soon.

Thanks so much for your quick response, it has made me feel reassured about getting better. I’ll definitely try and stick to this GP as she was very caring and didn’t rush me. You are all so kind, I’m so glad I found this forum. Sending good vibes to you.

Be reassured ! As nackapan says we hear so often that people get worse before they start improving . It’s quite a common occurrence. Don’t despair , keep injecting and let us know when you feel better . Best wishes .

That’s very reassuring to hear wedgewood, I must try and keep a positive attitude, everyone seems so brave dealing with B12D and it gives me hope. I’ll let you know how I get on.

Hello, I was okay when I first started s.i. ED then fatigue and brain fog got worse.

Then dizziness and balance was bad. After approximately three weeks it suddenly was better.

Other symptoms became worse for a time. It was very trying at the time.

I hope my experience is helpful.

Best wishes .

Hi Wheat, that’s very helpful to hear, although sorry you went through a hard time too, it’s good to know you are feeling better now. Hopefully I’ll see some improvement soon. Take care

There are many reasons for balance and dizziness issues. This was one of my main symptoms but please also be aware there are a lot of other causes like inner ear issues and neck problems as well so maybe get these investigated as well. Dizziness is so unpleasant.

I am having blood work done next week so I’m hoping that will throw some light on what’s causing it, in the meantime I’ll keep holding on to the furniture!

Have you had thyroid checked. I collapsed a year ago with vertigo having being SI EOD for months. Went to GP. Blood test showed very underactive thyroid. Now aware of strong link between two and belong to both forums. Symptoms similar

Sorry to hear you’ve had a rough time with vertigo, I’m having my thyroid tested next week and hope to get some answers, take care

Are you taking any ppi meds as this can be a side effect and blocks b12 absorption, have you been checked for coeliac disease? Also taking methyfolate helped me.

No, not taking any PPIs and I don’t think I’ve ever been tested for coeliac disease but will look into that as well as the methyl folate.

I was sooo dizzy when I first had B12 injections. It was awful. It subsided in a few weeks. 13 years later I inject myself every seven weeks and feel amazing. Hope you feel better soon

Healing crisis, with long term b12 deficiency we all get worse before we get better.

Are you on any blood pressure medication? I have two loved ones that suffered from those symptoms.

No, not on any medication for BP, it’s usually on the low side
