When I first started doing trials I did them for 120 days, then 90. This was based on the average lifespan of a red blood cell which I no longer consider. I found over time that 30 day trials seemed effective sometimes I found the results to be definitive in 7+- days when reducing or eliminating And then found 24 +- days when adding or increasing to be reasonable.
20 days ago I discovered an error in the protocol I was using with regards to concentration. I made the error of thinking all solutions were 1 mg/ml as that was the case with what I was injecting when I started and was in the throes of deficiency. The methylcobalamin I was injecting was 4 mg/ml and the Hydroxocobalamin I was using was .03 mg per ml. I also had issues with delay in delivery and wanting to try and reduce costs.
I emotionally processed the errors that I had made as it was distressing. Very distressing that I made the error of posting misinformation here.
So I decided to try a trial of SL. I also decided to eliminate each of the supplements that I take to see if any could be eliminated and they could not. I did not wait for symptoms to become severe. I concluded I could tell when they were incipit.
When I established that all the supplements I were taking were having an effect then I reduced the amounts of B12 I was taking SL until I felt they were not having the same effect and increased to former levels. I reached and even level of symptoms and put my errors in my rear view mirror.
When I was executing my prior trials which included my errors that was the best I felt in 3+ years and had not returned to feeling that well. Most noticeably my shortness of breath. I was also not as calm.
A factor was that when I started feeling better I would swim further or hike further and then would need two days to recover. Still working on that. I thought perhaps I was administering too much B12.
Three days ago I started injecting 1 mg methylcobalamin three times a day keeping my other supplements the same. I noticed I experienced a bit of a downturn between injections and have increased to 1.5 mg three times a day and increased my SL adenosylcobalamin to 6mg SL three times a day when I inject. So far the change is very positive and will test with a hike.
