The science regarding the efficacy of SL is not definitive one way or the other at best.

I decided to to a trial of only SL in part due to delays in procurement and in part to try and reduce costs. I eliminated then added the different forms of B12 that take one at a time about three days apart. It was not strictly laid out ahead of time so I could take a break from designing trials. I stayed with the three times a day.

These are impressions and not conclusions other than B6.

Vitamin B6 in the form of liquid Pyridoxal 5 Phosphate- For the 4th time I established that if I eliminate B6 my peripheral neuropathy returns due to I have a B6 deficiency.

Simple Supplement to replace B Complex eliminating this did not have any obvious effect. I am taking it again in lieu of a B Complex. I am trying to increase my dose to the recommended amount and it needs work as it upsets my stomach. I often neglect to take it with food.

Adenosylcobalamin I did not change this intake as I have established to my satisfaction that Methylcobalamin need to be taken together. I would have eliminated it had I not needed Methylcobalamin.

Hydroxocobalamin eliminating this caused my mucusy and starving for air to return. It also seemed to increase angst.

Methylcobalamin eliminating this caused nausea in the morning and that went away when I started again.

I still do not have a good handle on hunger. It is elusive and does not lend itself to 'eating healthy'.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It seems to me that I personally have a pattern of behavior that I am going to work on. I thought that when I improve the effectiveness of my supplementation I feel better and then over do it, over time. It is not the same as when I used to experience what I thought was reversing out and was actually experiencing using up my supplements due to inadequate intake or not often enough.

Pretty much it feels like I am healing to fast and my body needs more time. This is not the I need to live less of a life methodology. I may get to that point but not when I am improving.

The result of improving too fast is I need more rest and sleep than I can practically adapt too with my current situation. I may change my situation in the future so I can heal faster.

I am still designing my next trial. I am waiting for a supplement which is hung up in US Customs.

I am going to reduce my SL supplementation to get information and maybe not need as much rest and sleep by slowing down my healing.

It really helps that I have a protocol that I can go back to and trust it likely will result in continued improvement eventually. I seem to find comfort in having all my possible supplements on hand so I can avoid waiting for shipments. I will be running into issues with product expiring which adds angst if I have to guess it is OK that it has expired.

Sadly swimming is over for this year due to the sun not being out long enough to heat the lake. I could still swim in my trisuit for a couple of weeks. That takes more energy and time getting ready and keeping my trisuit dry. I am opting for hiking as my go to and hoping it works out I have energy to Tai Chi.

I am looking for an inexpensive place to live this winter to avoid the extra energy and cost of the winter here. Nice to know I can likely experience the stress of travel without the risk of crashing now that I have increased and changed my supplementation.

I have established to my satisfaction that treating my body and improving is easy with 1mg of hydroxocobalamin every other day. To thrive not so much.

So does sublingual b12 work for you?

The supplements I take both orally and sublingual in the dosages I take at the frequency I take are effective.

I am still working out if subcutaneous injections are more effective for me which may require another trial.

It has been less than two months since I started taking different forms at the same time more often and only 4 months since I abandoned the 1 mg hydroxocobalamin every other day.

That I am experiencing improvement is great. It does make evaluation of why more difficult as does my symptoms are now more subjective compared to other protocols I have tested.

I forgot to write that I also eliminated Betine for a few days and the acne like spots returned although not severe. They went away when I resumed supplementation.

I take Betaine as it is used in China with people who have functional B12 deficiency. I am assuming that my acne like spots are the result of a build up of homocysteine although that is the cause is not robustly established.

Have you tried injections? It sounds to me like you are still not on an optimal supplementation program.

Hey Hockey_player. Have done trials over the last few years with both SL and IM injections.

What is the "optimal supplementation program" of which you speak?
