Blood tests woes….B12 included against my wishes

I’ve just been for my coeliac, rheumatological etc blood tests to see if if autoimmunity is causing seizures issues.

Against all recommendations from British Haematology and others B12 levels were added. If I wasn’t feeling unwell already and needing the tests I would have refused because I already know that B12 will be stopped. Even the neurologist gave the GP the guidelines which were definitely left unread. I am understandably *seething* with utter rage that the same GP practice that lead to me being left on the floor from undiagnosed clinically low B12 would undertake the same route again.

I guess I will have to prepare for another round of letters.

It happened to me .Folate wax wanted and b12 is done at the same time automatically.

Nothing changed on that occasion.

My b12 prescription continued .

I am sorry to read this.

What is the point of having guidelines if they are not followed, my Gp did exactly the same. It is a never ending battle which when we are so unwell drains us of what little energy we have.

Autoimmune disease is a complete pain due to lack of understanding of them. Keep your chin up I can emphasise with your frustration and anger. 😘 💐

It is disgraceful that, in this age, the medical professionals are suposed to be a bit more knowledgeable, and that P.A. patients have to be injected with B12 injections for life. It is apparent that P.A. professionals are unaware of how best to treat their patients.

I have P.A. and have had it for a few years now. My Mother also had this condition and after some years GP told her that she needed no more injections.

WRONG !

Mother developed stomach cancer and died.
