Does anyone know of any contra indications for using CyanoC for SI rather than Hydroxoc? I understand that CC has a shorter life in the body than HC.

Contraindications of Cyanocobalamin are here:

ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK5...

Lebers disease is a contraindication that is relevant for Cyanocobalamin but not Hydroxocobalamin.

Thanks for your reply. Sounds a little risky to SI CC. I was kindly sent it by a friend in Germany would bought it over the counter. I was going to SI between monthly HC shots, half NHS, half private, when symptoms returned. Perhaps not a good option.

I think for any B12 formulation you are trying for the first time, the first injection should always be under medical supervision, mainly in case of anaphylaxis (severe allergic reaction), which is rare but serious. After that, SI should not be an issue as long as you are an adult and carefully follow the advice and guidelines from those here who have experience with it, hygiene being paramount of course. In terms of safety of SI, there is no significant difference between the two. Leber's disease is rare.

Many thanks. Getting medical supervision for a first SI would be tricky as it is all so clandestine. I will have to think about this.
