Will my B12 still be good if it hasn't been refrigerated?

I ordered some B12 ampoules from Germany and they arrived three weeks ago but I wasn't in so they were taken to the local post office for collection.

The next day I went to pick them up but there was a sign on the post office door saying that it would be closed because of computer failure...today was the very first day it was open and I rushed down and got my parcel BUT I'm wondering if it will be any good as it won't have been refrigerated and I don't know what conditions it's been stored it.

Will it be ok to use or is it ruined? :(

I actually have the same question. I ordered mine from Canada. it's taken probably 3 weeks to get here and has, as of today, been delayed. And I know it hasn't been kept in Cold Storage while it's been going through the Postal Service. It's been very hot and humid, how are these ampules going to be when I get them? Will they be any good? Thanks

if you are ordering B12 from Canada , then it will be Cynocobalamin, which is more stable and not so sensitive as Hydroxocobalamin. So. it to worry .

Thank you very much. I notice many on here order from Germany. Is that better? I couldn't translate the pages to order. Thanks again.

i don’t think that Hydroxocobalamin B12 ( which is what we order from German online pharmacies ) is better than Cynocobalamin . But it apparently stays in the system longer , therefore requiring less frequent injecting . The only drawback to Cynocobalamin is that it should not be used by patients with Lebers disease , an hereditary optic neuropathy condition . But this is rare . To translate , use Google Chrome or a translation app .

Gotcha, thank you. I don't know if I would know the difference. I still feel terrible after starting 9 weeks ago. But only started eod a few weeks ago. This week I did 4 days in a row. Just to see if that's what I needed to get this pain in my feet and legs to go away. Heck, I don't know what I'm doing.

I’m afraid that patience is called for . A lot depends on how long you have been deficient . You probably haven’t an idea . Hope that you are taking a daily 400mcg folic acid tablet which works with B12 ( the recommended tablet during pregnancy)Just keep injecting . You cannot overdose on B12 which is good to know .Very best wishes .

Thank you wedgewood! I have the folic acid. I was taking that and iron and something was making me very shaky so I stopped taking them. My guess it was probably the iron. I will start taking folic again. Ok, I'll be more patient. It's just I live alone so a simple glass of water is a big deal. Thanks again.

I would think it is OK , most important is that it has been in the parcel (in the dark).

It was in a package that would block the light right?

I seem to recall reading that it shouldn't be refrigerated. I wonder about the heat though. I never order near summer but I live in a place with very hot summers.

Our little neighborhood postal station is air conditioned, but along the way it could get pretty hot.

I'd try it and see how it works. Maybe just fine!

I keep all of mine in the fridge at 10 degrees with no problems to date.
