Has B12 changed since change of pharmacy?

I have been having B12 ampules from VersandApo for over 3 yrs.

Since the change of pharmacy, I have noticed a difference in my health.I had got rid of almost all my symptoms. The ones I had left got slightly worse if I tried to jab every 3 days instead of EOD.

When the ' new' shaped ampules arrived, apart from being harder to 'flick' the contents down, and less leeway in amount,I have gradually had a return of some symptoms and a worsening of the remaining ones . Having been so pleased with my progress and feeling like life had returned, I now feel I am going backwards. A friend using the same supplier, has found exactly the same problems, we have only discussed this today, which has prompted this post.

Has anyone else found this difficulty please. I hope I don't have to resort to the Amazon larger ampules, as my friend found those were ok!!

I have not noticed any difference in ampoules or efficacy. I use panpharma/rotexmedica from versandapo.

What brand do you normally get?

Did you double check that you got the right kind, hydroxy/cyano?

Did you order during a heat wave? I assume you keep it stored in a dark place and under 25C.

Did you check the expiration date?

Added to ask if you compared lot numbers with your friend? Maybe there was a bad batch (which I doubt) or got heat damaged during storage/transport from pharmacy?

I'm sorry, i know the feeling. I had that once when i changed brands, and twice when the b12 got heat damage while i was travelling.

Thanks. I use hydroxy. Always keep in dark less than 20% or fridge. Exp.date 2023/4.I order for my friend at the same time so same batches. 2 orders from Panpharma both ordered in winter. Previously Rotex. Sooo. How do I know if bad batch apart from efficacy?

Hmm interesting. I really hadn't noticed any difference. But especially since you both noticed something, then it's worth following up.

I would contact versandapo and explain the problem - return of symptoms for both of you. That you stored it properly.

I don't know what else to suggest. Perhaps if others had issues with this batch they will eventually show up here.

I don't know if Mycare.de is still shipping to the UK but i've found them to be a good alternative supplier.

Btw how long ago was that order? My last order I got 2023/11 or 2024/2. Usually the expiry dates are more than 18 months. I would just try a new order. Problem is that it's getting warmer these days.

You don’t mention any manufacturers names . Are you referring to Panpharma who took over Rotexmedica ? They produce both Cynocobalamin ampoules and Hydroxocobalamin. In U.K. Hydroxocobalamin is used now by the NHS .and it is the ampoule that is most commonly used by members on this forum . But both ampoules are identical in size (1mg x 1ml) . So really don’t know which ones you are referring to . Here is how I obtain Hydroxocobalamin ampoules from versandapo.de

Ordering Panpharma B12 depot from versandapo.de ( a very reputable and reliable German Online Pharmacy) , that is strictly controlled by the German Health Authorities .

These ampoules come in packs of 10 , and are 1mg x 1ml

Courier costs ( DHL) €9.00 no matter how many you order.

Usually takes 4 working days .

The site is in German , so you may need to use Google Chrome or a translation app.

It is always advisable to register when you order for the first time . First of all, once registered , you will save time when ordering subsequently. Also versandapo.de run a points scheme if you are registered . You are given 200 points when you register and you are awarded 1point for every Euro you spend . 250 points represent €2.50 which you can use when you pay. Once registered , you can find out how many points you have accumulated by going into your account .

To register or log in , click on the little silhouette of a head and shoulders ( top right on my iPad ) and fill out the form . ITS VERY IMPORTANT TO FILL IN YOUR COUNTRY BEFORE YOU ADD THE REST OF YOUR ADDRESS . Click on the drop-down list of countries. The U.K. is written in German as “ VEREINIGTES KÖNIGREICH” ( United Kingdom)

Once you have done that , your U.K. postal code will be accepted by the computer . The computer needs to know your country before it will accept the rest of your address .

You will need to put in a password of course .

You can pay by PayPal or Bank transfer . Cards are not accepted by versandapo from U.K. customers.

Bank transfer is free if you do it with Online Banking , but costs £25.00 if you do it at your bank .

For future orders , you need to click on the silhouetted head and shoulders to log in . and give your email address and password.

You can use the pharmaceutical reference number( PZN) to order Panpharma B12 depot ( Hydroxocobalamin) 1mg x 1ml ampoules This is 16199653 . You get straight to the item . Panpharma do not sell the clinic packs of 100 ampoules . The ampoules usually have a use-by date of 2 years .

At the moment courier ( DHL) cost is €9.00 no matter how many packets you buy .

You can email them -kontakt@versandapo.de

Thanks, please see my reply to Jade_s. I look at the actual amount in ampule which is usually a small amount over l mlto make up for waste left in syringe etc .

The shape of the ampules from Pan Pharma are a slightly different shape from the Rotex. ones. I have been obtaining my hydroxy. from VersandApo for yrs very successfully.

The order last Dec had exp.date of 2024, the one this month had 2023. Ho hummm

Hello Jaybirdx

I presume you’re living in UK. I live in Ireland and am getting treatment from a Dutch hormone doctor who is helping me a lot.

If you continue to have problems with your new chemist you could try ordering this product from Germany as I have recently done. Here is what my Dutch doctor wrote to me together with the link below:

If you cannot return this prescription to a pharmacy in Ireland, you can go to this webhop:

arzneiprivat.de/product/vit... This is about the brand Hevert; 1 ampoule contains 1000 micrograms of vitamin B12, 2 milliliters

There is also another brand, which is a bit more expensive but more concentrated:

arzneiprivat.de/product/vit...

Hope this helps as a backup resort if your present pharmacy continue to give you substandard Vitamin B12 ampoules.
