Which choice of B12 to buy?

Hi Everyone, I want to put an order into Bodfeld for my next lot of B12 Ampules but am confused? The usual ones I buy Rotexmedica Depot are showing in a different box (£48 18 for a 100) It used to be with black and red lettering and this one is a peachy colour. I also see it says Cyanocobalamin and I thought it should be Hydroxocobalamin ? Would this be OK or would I be better ordering the dearer £73.18) Hevert brand which does say Hydroxocobalamin? Thanks in advance for any advise given. I love this site as everyone is so friendly and helpful and it is my go to when I need to know anything or be reassured.

You could send them an email. They read and understand English. Maybe it's just an error.

I use the Hevert brand and it's alright. It's more liquid in those ampules for the same dosage of b12 though. And it's more expensive, as you noted.

Thanks for that Sammyo23. Hopefully sorted now as wedgewood pointed me the way to some Hydroxocobalamin which is cheaper than Hevert. I used the ref number she provided and it is a good price so you may like to take a look yourself.

When ordering B12, I always ask for B12 depot This means you will get Hydrocobalamin, which is what is used in the NHS. ALWAYS LOOK FOR B12 DEPOT . Cynocobalamin would work, but it’s supposed to need more regular injecting than Hydroxocobalamin It’s widely used in the USA Just been on the BODFELD site . They do not have packs of 100 ampoules at the moment , but the have packets of ten . If you want 100 ampoules , order 10 packets of 10 ( €5.98 a packet ) Use the reference number - 03862297 and you get straight to it . . You now have to pay Bodfeld by Bank Transfer . OK if you have mobile/ internet banking , otherwise it costs £25.00 at your bank .

Hevert B12depot ampoules are fine, but they are more expensive than Rotexmedica, and come as 1mg x 2ml ampoules , which I find inconvenient.

Thank You so much for all that helpful information! The ones you pointed me the way to did not come up when I was looking but putting the number in brought them up. Not a bad price at all so am ordering 100 which should keep me going for a bit. 😃

Rotexmedica has been purchased by a French pharmaceutical company called Panpharma . Some pharmacies are selling them under the new name “Panpharma b12 depot “ I think that’s the reason they did not come up .The reference number stays the same though . Don’t know if the design of the packet is different l

You are so helpful so Big "Thanks" to you! Have put my order in and the bit of doing the Bank Transfer was the difficult bit but finally got there with a little help from a German friend!😀

Well done . Yes the first time doing the Bank Transfer can be a bit daunting . I find Bodfeld so reliable and their ampoules always are fresh with a long use-by date !

Hi, I know this is an older thread but I just wanted to check … has the reference number now changed as well? I just looked up the old reference number and it’s directing me to Panpharma 16199653. I just wanted to double check it’s the same thing. Thank you

That’s the right reference number for a packet of 10 Panpharma vitamin B12 depot ampoules ( Hydroxocobalamin) They do not supply packs of 100¿. . versandapo.de have now resumed supplying the U.K. You can pay with PayPal or BankTransfer . Courier charge €9.00 no matter how many you buy .

Thank you wedgwood, it’s been a long uphill battle for my daughter and we still have no definitive answers. I believe her B12 is still an issue as never treated and now she has ferritin deficiency as well as vit d and low folate. I’ve booked a private appt with a functional medicine doctor who I know does B12 shots as I wanted her initial shots done by a qualified professional just incase there was any issues as she’s only 15. I will then continue at home.

That is a good move, to have your daughter’s first injection done by a medical professional . Then subsequently DIY . Costs so little then . Less than a cup of coffee . And the great thing is that one cannot overdose . Have you got all the information that you need for DIY ! Can always send you a help sheet .

I’ve got everything I need all ready to go thanks to this group. Once the initial shots are done I can then keep ontop of it at home. She’s now diagnosed with ME/CFS but is deteriorating as the weeks go by and I can’t believe all her low levels are ignored and i’m told are no cause for concern. I’ve learned not only do you have to deal with your own B12 but that goes for all other vits and minerals which are treated so blasé when they are vital.

Dr Sarah Myhill who has devoted her life to treating ME/CFS patients , has written a book on that subject ( Amazon ) I know that one of her recommended treatments is B12 injections .

I have my daughter booked in with Dr Amalok Bansal in January and he also treats with B12 and will prescribe for self injecting. It’s far cheaper to order from Germany but at least it will be on my daughters medical records and a copy sent to her GP who will not consider B12 injections for deficiency despite her having all the neuropathy symptoms.

Hi catsgalour, I couldn’t find Rotexmedica depot, there only seems to be cynocobalamin available. Bodfeld have Pascoe depot 1.5 in stock, which is what I bought using Amazon Pay. Including p&p, the total was €78 for 100 pieces.
