I was prescribed Zantac for stomach issues many years ago until, fortunately, I arranged my own private endoscopy, which showed up H/pylori, (youâll know this is one cause of B12 deficiency). Only then was my GP willing to treat with with antibioticsâŠâŠâŠâŠ

Really nothing surprises me anymore. They use the âDo no harmâ leitmotif to suit them, often in refusing treatment to patients, never when it comes to make money for big pharma!
I thought your post read Zanex at first so thatâs what sparked my interest as I was prescribed Zanex for anxiety back in the early 90s I felt great on it really chilled out but then it was withdrawn because of side effects which included going blind was one. Just popping it in as I think itâs awful what they push onto us to taking
Fossil fuel industry knew about global warming for decades and did nothing; big tobacco knew of the dangers of cigarettes for years and did nothing. On and on and on. There are virtually no problems life on this planet faces that can't be traced in one way or another to some rich SOB's BOTTOM LINE.
Your post also reminded me of something which happened a while a go.A new employee was randomly drug tested a few years ago and tested positive for Cocaine and was suspended for a week while investigation took place.
After swearing he had never touched any illicit drugs in his life, he was prescribed Zantac and it was that which caused the false positive for Cocaine!
With what I do now I have also found out that the antidepressant Venlafaxine, if drug tested will also show a false positive for Tramadol.
All the leaflets accompanying drugs dished out (so say to warn of side affects etc) do not cover long term damage to your system. Pharmaceutical drugs have ingredients that are alien to the human body.... we are all to trusting of what we are fed by these so say miracle cures.
You're right!I became addicted to what started the Opioid epidemic in the US, OxyContin, and I'm in the UK.
Purdue Pharma the manufacturer of OxyContin, and the Sackler family who own Purdue are the biggest drug Cartel going, they have the blood of many hundreds and thousands on their hands. I'm one of the few fortunate ones to survive. Yet they're still living a life of luxury from the deaths of so many. Disgusting.
Iâm so sorry to learn that you were prescribed it. Itâs pretty poor you arranged and had to pay for endoscopy before antibiotics were prescribed.
Quite often poly drugging happens. Oh you take something to alleviate one symptom but that has an impact so another drug is added in. Searching for root cause is always the best. As you proved but costly.
I so agree about once you start taking one drugâŠâŠ.. My relative, collecting father in lawâs prescriptions from the pharmacist, was horrified at the large bagful handed over and told, âthatâs nothing, you should see what some people are prescribedâ!
Thank you Narwhal10 and all of you who responded.
I feel for younger people now as I look back nostalgically on the care we received when my children were very young. Drugs were generally a last resort and doctors worked with you with mutual trustâŠâŠ.
"I feel for younger people now as I look back nostalgically on the care we received" and "drugs were generally the last resort" I quite agree, but I do wonder if they will except a medication for instant resultsNot realising that these drugs sometimes are not the answer !
I accept the premise of the article but the source is extremely problematic. Robert F Kennedy Jr., and his foundation, are known for anti-vax activism and promoting the idea that vaccines cause autism (something that has been completely debunked, and the "doctor" who originally came up with this idea having been struck off the UK medical register for falsifying data in his study on vaccines and autism; so he went to the US, where he continues his vile and dangerous propaganda).
I'm an autistic person. My son is autistic. These sentiments and activities are offensive to the autistic community.
I think people should be really careful about where they access information and what they share online.
I respect your views and situation Curlygal, as well as Dr Wakefieldâs and Robert Kennedyâs. I hope you will respect mine, as well freedom of information and an individualâs right to choose healthcare - itâs become a minefield đâ€ïž
