Nurse gave my b12 injection a week and a half ago and my arm is really hurting to the point that it's very uncomfortable to lift things with that arm and its waking me in the night if I roll onto that side. I've been having injections for years now and never had anything like this, anyone had similar, how long did it take to go away, should I be worried?
It's been hurting since a few hours after the injection

I've had a trauma from a bad injection technique from s nurse . She really hurt me several times. The arm was stiff and sore to the point I said about it to another nurse.
Avoided the nurse in question.
I was told to keep it moving Took over 3 weeks to recover .
Thanks nackapan, it didn't hurt at the time she injected but started about an hour after. I think it was injected quite high so wondering if she went in at a funny angle too and went through the muscle bloody hurts though. I'll keep it moving and hope mines sorted in 3 weeks 😊
If you are worried but don"t want to ring your surgery you could try asking your local pharmacist what they think you should do . Hope you are back to normal soon and best wishes to you.
Thanks I might try that, think I'll sound a bit silly if I ring them and not sure they'd do anything but I've never had this before and been having injections for a few years now so might give the pharmacy a try
It happens to me from time to time after an IM arm injection. You can try putting a cold compress on it for a few hours and see if it helps. I noticed that it happened after receiving my COVID vaccines and booster in the same arm as well. It took several weeks for my arm to be pain free.
It’s quite possible the nurse injected too high on the shoulder. Check out this online: SIRVA (shoulder injury related to vaccine administration). Symptoms include chronic pain, limited range of motion, nerve damage, frozen shoulder and rotator cuff tears. Could happen with any injection I believe not only vaccines.
Also there’s a possibility that the needle hit a larger blood vessel which has bled into the muscle thus causing pain and stiffness. If you are able to tolerate them then some anti-inflammatory pain relieve in the form of Ibuprofen, or such like, should help. Hopefully it will ease off. However, if it doesn’t I would definitely report it to your GP and ensure it is documented in your records.
