I always add turmeric, ginger and black pepper when fermenting my kombucha. If I put off making a batch, I do feel it makes a difference. But of course that could be the lack of microbes, turmeric, ginger or black pepper!!! To be honest I just love it and it seems to help! Just keep using the black pepper if it helps you Hameyeshguy!
I was reading today how turmeric affects iron absorption so it isn't recommended for those with iron deficiency- it's hard to know what is true tbh. You might want to check.
