Intolerance to eggs

I'm not sure if this of help to anybody but here goes.

Have felt rubbish for several months, rash on chest keeps flaring up, every so often right ankle would swell slightly going down over night, and joint pain. Have been keeping a diary of food intake eliminating different foods. Last week on antibiotics, so eating bland foods potatoes, chicken banana etc.

By Saturday felt better until 5.oo when I had egg on toast, as soon as I'd eaten it I knew Id made a mistake, within hours Rash inflamed and felt rubbish, ankle swollen...... I think I have now found the enemy lurking in my diet. I couldn't work out why I was alright for several days and then relapse.... Now I know.

Sunday I wasn't feeling good, but today feeling a lot better.

IT wasn't as if I was eating lots of eggs maybe one or two a week.... now zero.

Really important to keep a record of diet.

Cant wait for my pebbledashed chest and neck to disappear.

I'm curious about what's inside of the eggs that you'd be reacting to, and what else you'd have issues with based on that.

Eggs have a small amount of carbs and sugar in them, but you talk about eating potatoes and bananas.

in reply toSammyo23

Nothing to do with carbs, apparently there is some sort of protein that can upset the body.

Food sensitivities can start at any time, as can alergies. Sorry that you are experiencing this.I have no problem with eggs so I don't think the problem is something related to B12

in reply toGambit62

No I quite agree, I wrote about it because So many people blame b12 for everything when in fact other things can cause problems and it's a good idea to keep a diary of what we eat etc.

Hi, I realised a few years ago that eggs did not agree with me, however overtime I have windled it down to the egg white...I can enjoy the yolk but I steer clear of that amniotic fluid....bet that description has put a few people off !!!

I have a love hate relationship with eggs, one minute I can eat them and then suddenly they cause me problems, but this time it has really effected me and so it will be along time before I would even look at one as for eating one no no.

I was just told a few days ago, by my allergist, that I'm allergic to eggs, chicken, peas, rye, and peanuts. I was eating eggs and chicken all the time. I have a lump under my ankle.

in reply toNinagreen

Oh dear ! Hope that's not the same for me, had chicken yesterday and got peas today! 😂

That lump must be painful. The only thing I noticed was the rash on my chest , a little puffiness in my ankle in the evening and increased pain in the joints.

It will be interesting to read if you recover by avoiding these foods. Please let us know and hoping the lump disappears.
