I have been feeling rubbish for the past few months (dizzy spells, fatigue, tingling feeling in arms and legs). Just had a blood test and diagnosed with low folic acid levels. In past few days, I have gone down hill. Can barely function for small tasks, everything is exhausting. I have been taking multivitamins and changing diet (under advice of the doctor), is there anything else anyone can recommend to improve this feeling?
Thank you!
Edit: So my 2nd lot of bloods have shown that all my levels are back up within range (Iron. Folate. B12) But I am still feeling rubbish π now it is back to the drawing board to see if we can find out what it going on!

Thank you for reply. I am not sure if my b12 was checked. Doctor didn't mention anything about it. I got repeat bloods in month to double check for improvements, so I will ask for it then π I wasn't prescribed folic acid tablets, just told multivitamins and diet, would they be enough?
Depends on your levels. I would check . Get your blood result print out. Usually labs do b12 with folate
It's just important if b12 low to treat that first.
Really they should be explaining more.
The results have the within range in brackets on the right . I get a print off every time now. As although my ferritin was in range it was low for me . Had never been that low in fact. So I did have an old blood test to uses as a baseline as everyone functions it seems on different levels of some things.
Post on here if unsure for comments.
If tiuve taken the multivit as told and diet change and no improvements tell your Gp.
I will contact them tomorrow and get copy of past few tests for comparison. I was not aware that you could request blood results, just always taken the doctors word for things.
Yes I used to before this condition! Luckily as I wad monitoring cholesterol i was having a yearly blood test on request . As no feedback decided to keep the results and got them printed off. You used to have to pay. Not allowed now to charge. At least I hD a benchmark for alot of things.
Not b12 or folate though as first one done at the age of 57 unbelievable. Even at my 50 yr 'mot' not done now I know a reak risk factor for b12 dropping as stomach acid reduces. Hindsight hey!!
