B12 Injections and Liver Enzymes

I’m starting the B12 loading doses today. Does anyone know if they will affect my liver enzymes? My GP had me scheduled for an LFT tomorrow unrelated to the B12 injections.

Not as far as I can think. B12 can be used to help with liver problems and liver damage due to toxins so it could be a good thing to have depending on what liver issues you have, but I can't think why it would affect the enzymes.

B12 is stored in the liver. Damage to the liver can cause B12 dumping - ie release into the ileum for absorption into the blood. This is generally associated with high levels of B12. If the liver is damaged then it may not be possible to replenish the stores that have been lost , your body loses its bility to regulate B12 levels in the blood and a period of high serum B12 would be followed by dropping serum B12 and deficiency..Good luck with the liver function test.

Would the B12 injections damage the liver even further?

No, I can't think of any way B12 could damage the liver - raised serum B12 can be caused by liver damage but it doesn't cause liver damage.
