G.p surgery

I just tried to book an IM b12 injection as have them 6 weekly as well as a prescription for sc at home.

I was asked for the very first time by the receptionist if my doctor had 'authorised' me to have them? I said i assume so as have a prescription. I was then told they have be authorised as most are being switched to b12 tablets

Change of management and I've obviously not been reviewed yet .No nurses so one shipped in once a week.

My stomach has butterfly's .

So weary of all this.

Although she booked me in might cancel. Have my prescription to do at home. Just having a 6 weekly iM as requested just incase the sc didny stay in my system as long and I think to check in with me. Also with a nurses shipped in a right pallava as have to explain light sensitivity .Don't have one brand. The regular nurses just switched the flourescent light off and knew ne with the bizarre big hat. Made wirses with a mask.

So lm wondering if just new management.

Or reviews happening across all surgeries

Or a simple case of no nurses in post yet so putting more at risk agsjn on b12 tablets. J might cancel so hopefully someone else's is 'authorised ' to get their b12?? Worrying . Just trying yk get back on track. Not there yet and another battle may be on the horizon.

Has anyone actually had a review or just ordered to have bloods then refused as b12 high ?? Grrrr

Hi Nackapan,

I can understand why you feel the way you do. I think that these reviews are partly to do with having less face to face appointments, and a good excuse for GP's to do some penny pinching. I don't think that you should cancel your appointment - try and stay calm and remind them why you were prescribed jabs in the first place.

" I was then told they have be authorised as most are being switched to b12 tablets"

I expect that in the not too distant future that the BNF will black-list oral 12 again.

Sorry to hear they are being so obstructive. I am getting intermittent light sensitivity and it’s not very nice - I am tempted to wear sunglasses all the time.

It’s so hard to argue with people who don’t listen. And the energy required to argue is energy you probably don’t have.

No answers really, just wanted to sympathise.
