Hi, thanks for your reply. So my doctor hasn’t said a thing at all. I requested my bloods as they were reported as normal. My b12 seems quite high considering I haven’t been supplementing and it says just out of range keep under review.
Oh so are you not b12 deficient or have PA if not supplementing ?
If you have been on b12 injections ir b12 supplements it csn take months fir levels to drop but with pA nd absorbtion problems you need to carry on with maintanencd doses fir life.
I woukd take s modest folic acid 200-400 mcg daily
Eat what I suggested
Take your vit d
Eat well and get tested again Ii 3 months
Gp needs to work with you ti see why fatigue is a problem.
Oh sorry I should Have explained, I don’t have PA I posted on here as there seems to be very good knowledge of folate b12 etc. I do always tend to get low ferritin due to issues reacted to endometriosis however.
Folate doesn't have the same problem that B12 has - a wide overlap between normal people with B12 at the bottom of, or below, the normal range, and deficient people with B12 above the bottom of the normal range.
However, if you have any worries about folate, just take a supermarket folic acid, 400 mcg once a day.
Be cause of your fatigue you should also check vit D and ferritin plus thyroid levels ideally tsh as well as ft3 and ft4. Because of very high b12 you could also check the active form of serum b12 to see where that is. A GP won't want to all this so some may have to be privately sourced....
