Hi my b12 level was 155 so doctor give me injections, after that i felt really good for about a month, then feeling lik dizzy but no vertigo, i asked for b12 ro be checked and it was above 2000 but folate is extreeeeemly low, does b12 need folate in lrder to work well ? Did anyone have same thing as me? Thank you..

folate and B12 are used together for a lot of processes so if you don't have enough folate it won't be able to use B12. When you start being treated for a B12 deficiency your body is likely to use a lot more folate than it would normally trying to repair damage etc that occured whilst you were B12 deficient ... or just being able to carry out processes that it couldn't before so it is possible to become folate deficient.

How low is extreeeemly low?

high B12 is what would be expected a month after injections anyway, regardless of folate levels.

Hi Themost1ted as Gambit62 says there is a complex interaction between folic acid, vitamin B12 and iron. A deficiency of one may be "masked" by excess of another so the three must always be in balance. Please get back to your doctor and ask for treatment
