Vertigo and b12

I woke up this morning with the most awful vertigo.I was so nauseous too and I got up very slowly sat on bed for a minute then attempted to go to the bathroom,I was bouncing off the walls it’s so horrible.

I decided last week to try and reduce my shots from every other day to weekly because I thought I was doing ok and id give it another try so the last shot I had was last Sunday, think I may have screwed up again and yet I had hoped for a positive result this time.

Was it coincidence or do I really need to stick with that e.o.d frequency? I really do dread doing them, sometimes it’s fine then sometimes I seem to get a bad run where it hurts and bleeds so it makes me not want to do them but we all know the consequences of that Dont we.I’ve not had an attack of vertigo since I started self injecting 10 months ago so I think I’ll increase again it’s maybe not the best time to be taking risks.x

That's horrid I had vertigo at the start after my collapse I know I've said this before but as a pattern emerging of you trying to go longer between injections then get horrid symptoms as you dread the Injection.

Why dont you try doing sc as well ?

I have both still.

Or on your next try do every 3 days and stick with that for a month or 2 ?

Ar the moment I'm I'm injecting between 5-7 days

Sometimes I feel I'm getting somewhere.

I know with what yih mean about trying new things in the current climate .

A few weeks ago I got on my bike again. It felt good . Its second nature ti me. On stopping I was so ill???

Lasted 5 hours

I got scared as like you I thought not the best time to test things. We all seem to be 'on hold'

Try some cawthorne exercises even if whilst in bed . Eye exercises

If your symptoms continue I did the Epley manouvre at home .It took 3 attempts but worked.

I'd been to the gp the one I I have a low opinion of and he failed to do it right

He wouldnt repeat it.???

A pysio is your other option.

I like you was aiming for monthly b12 injections and being well.

I'm over 2 years in and increased rather than decreased.

Dont get too upset about it..

For some bizarre reason we think it's a success if we have fewer. Well more doable and less of a reminder.

My husband pointed out (he does 4 sc insulin daily)

It's getting well the most important

If he missed an Injection as he felt okay hed be in hospital.

I hope the virtigo settles.

I've an emergency drug in my cupboard incase it returns.

Perhaps ask gp for that.?

I've got serc.

And pr.... for sickness at the start

I've not actually used either yet.

Again fear if change as a preventative. Ref. Serc.

Hope you feel better soon.

I empathise. T C

Yhe other drug is prochlorperazine. It w.as prescribed when I went for the Epley msnouvre.

I didnt take it as felt over the worst and wasnt actually sick.

The doctor I mentioned would not do a referral to ENT as I didnt follow his instructions.

Too ill too argue at the time .

The drug is useful if you are vomiting as my mum has had it.

To get that referral I shouldve lied.

Not in my nature.

That man......

Good morning Nackapan and thank you. I had BPV after head injury and docs gave me tablets to take which made me feel worse so I only took two then returned to chemist.I’ve not had this again since starting b12 shots it’s amazing what we forget isn’t it. I thought I was doing ok this week but obviously not so it’s back to the old regime.I just made myself do a shot there and I got a bleeder again and it hurt going in,I was cold though and not really keen to do it so no surprise there lol.Sorry about the bike I know it’s a big achievement for you take care Nackapan xx

Yes! I tried the same thing and it’s amazing how quickly symptoms return! Do you have someone that could do the injections for you and give you a break from doing them yourself?Back to 3 times a week for me as well. Sometimes it’s as though I need the reminder when I feel like I’m feeling good and could probably go longer without. It’s usually by week 3 that I’m regretting that decision. I’m so sick of all of the pokes. It’s crazy to me when I think of the number of injections I have received in the last 3 years. I shouldn’t complain. I just have to remind myself of the alternative. Suddenly they don’t seem so bad.😳

Morning Plucky11966.Thankfully my shot kicked in pretty quick and I feel a lot better this morning other than the mother of all headaches lol.As you say we are lucky to be in the position of having these b12 life saving injections I can’t believe the difference it makes missing those couple of shots so it’s back to basics for me again.thank you for your opinion and stay well yourself x

Hi, I have had this several times its awful and you have my sympathies . I don't think its down to B12 but down to crystals forming in thee ear and getting dislodged causing benign paroxysmal positional vertigo , next time it happens try the Epley manoeuvre, you might have to do it several times but it works.
