First 3-monthly injecton of B12 not effective.

In the UK was diagnosed with B12 deficiency in October (level 207), had 6 injections over 2 weeks that helped eliminate the symptoms but 10 weeks later had a return of aching bones and twitching muscles, tested B12 at 500+ then 3 monthly injection 7 days ago which has had no effect in reducing the returned symptoms. What should I be pushing for with my UK GP?

Are you sure those symptoms are caused by a B12 deficiency? Aching bones and twitching muscles are not normal symptoms. Do none of the other symptoms return?

The other symptoms were fingers & toes tingling with numbness, they went away with the original 6 shots B12 and have never returned. Original shots appeared to take away the bne aches and muscle twitch but the single 3 month booster had no effect.

I had aching bones (or perhaps muscles, all I know is my legs were agony). It was my main symptom apart from fatigue.

I’ve also had aching bones/muscles and twitches all over. Used to get tingling fingers in the morning but that symptom seems to have disappeared!!

I’ve came across quite a few people on this forum with same sort of symptoms for B12 deficiency.

I still have them unfortunately, doctor wouldn’t give me injections even with neurological symptoms. Got an app with neurologist on wed so I’ll see what they say.

Im following behind you, Dr wont give me extra B12 beyond 1 every 3 months and is setting up a neurologist appointment. How did yours go>

I got the wrong Wednesday 🙈 it’s this Wednesday coming. Thank god I checked my appointment letter day before. I’m thinking if I don’t get anywhere with neurologist I’ll start SI.
