Hi I'm new on here. I've just had my first b12 injection and now 3 days later my muscles really hurt. Is this normal?

It is likely that the healing process has begun - because I often read on this forum, that P.A patients symptoms will start to get worse before they get better . So do press on with your treatment . I’m sure you will get replies of a similar nature . Don’t be disheartened ! Best wishes .

This is absolutely normal. You will feel worse at first as your body begins to adjust to a change in B12 levels. I had severe body aches, headaches—I felt awful at first and was in the bed after each injection . I began treatment with cyano but I would imagine all forms are the same in this respect. Stay with it. Your body has begun its journey to healing. I don’t think it took very long to begin adjusting for me. Maybe about 4 weekly injections and then things improved. Once you are fully healed and be patient—depending on how low levels are and severity of symptoms, it’s going to take some time for full resolution. It is a gradual process. The good news is once you are healed and receiving adequate regular injections, you won’t feel anything after injections. You will simply feel normal. Best of luck to you on your healing journey!
