Word of warning

Just a heads up on GP attitudes, after many years of reluctant b12 injections and atrial fibrillation diagnosis I have as some of you may understand, been treated as the idiot that likes to make a fuss about feeling tired. Just been diagnosed with metastatic ovarian cancer, and only because I put everything in writing. Beware of having your concerns dismissed.

Hello Lazydaisy22,

I am sorry you have that diagnosis but thank you for sharing. I have found these posts invaluable for information but mostly support with taking control of my own health.

Unfortunately the health service has been under resourced for many years and with the pandemic despite what the politicians are saying the health service is no longer coping.

Best of luck with your treatment.

I learnt from some difficult experiences with medical profession that it is wise to put things in writing and keep copies in case needed in future. I think it's wise for people to have a paper trail in case there is a need for a formal complaint where proof may be needed that an issue has been raised in past.

sorry to hear this. i 100% agree. fatigue is a symptom of lots of serious health issues. in fact that's the main reason i went to the doctor about 6 months ago. not because i'm depressed and fatigued, which i am, and i know they can't help me with, but to rule out things like cancer.

my wake up call was in 1987. i watched my grandfather get misdiagnosed for years until they found the cancer. at that point they just told him to get his affairs in order.

if you are on this forum you know how important it is take control of your own health and not hand over the keys to the medical establishment. my sister recently was diagnosed with breast cancer. she is a nurse practitioner and knows how the sausage is made. she really had to struggle, change doctors, advocated for herself to get the treatment SHE wanted. She did not want to go with the traditional destructive treatments. luckily she has a supportive husband and brother who will stand up to authority. : ) Do you have someone to advocate for you? someone informed and not easily bullied by doctors? ideally you'd have someone that knows the wide array of traditional and alternative treatment options.

Thank you, I feel lucky to have been offered treatment under the current circumstances, don't see GPS reputations coming out of this very well, make them into accountants and forget the patents.

Hi Lazydaisy22. I wish you well with your treatments, and I am glad that you posted on here, as I am vocal with my dr and surgeons, 14 ops, in line with Thunderdoggy. I would take Sleepybunnys advice, as your records can be wiped after 7 years ?, and evidence is very important. Hope that everything works out well
