I am currently on 3-monthly maintenance injections after having 3 x 1 weekly loading doses when diagnosed with low B12 levels 18months ago. Neurological symptoms have continued, including constant dizziness and blurred vision. Then during the first lockdown period I was not contacted by the GP for my injection in August and stupidly
didn't chase this up so did not have next injection until November! By this time I was having quite severe symptons with ocular migraines, "jelly legs", breathlessness, dizziness, nerve pains in arms and legs etc etc. I started taking oral B12 supplements in August and have only felt able to function by taking 3 or 4 1000ug timed release tablets daily., which is a lot! After several recent conversations with my GP I had further blood tests to establish if I had pernicious anaemia. My GP advised continuing the oral tablets and as expected the B12 levels are now over 2000. I am awaiting a phone call to discuss the results (I dont know the result of the IFA test )but I am wondering if anyone can advise if I should be asking for more frequent injections?
Thank you.
PS Basically I am asking if the high blood test results after taking the oral tablets means that my body is absorbing the B12? Thank you

Thank you for the reply. I had my last injection on 9th November (three months late). Was already supplementing with 1 daily oral B12 tablet - the reading then was 408. Due to increase in symptoms I started taking up 4 tablets daily prior to the last blood test on 10th December - results have just come back with reading of 2000+.
I’m new to B12 matters. Had initial 6 injections 3 months ago and due booster in 5 days. Last week test showed levels at 500 plus, but from before that test i’m feeling non muscular aches and pains in arms and legs. How long does it take after a B12 booster for the symptoms to fade away, a day or two, days, weeks or more than a month?
