B12 injection cancelled for covid injections.

This post is not a grouse against the massively important Covid vaccine.

After last weeks tussle with practice nurse I am flummoxed that yet again I will be unable to have b12 injection. This morning practice receptionist managed to get me an appointment for this. It is two days before the actual due date. I was so pleased.cos shealso said I was lucky because apart from this one, I'd be unlikely to get in til after Christmas.

This evening I received a text from the practice telling me my appointment has been cancelled. They are expecting a supply of the new covid injection. So now I've to arrange another time which could well be after Christmas. No way am I waiting that long. I battled to be given 8 weekly injections and now they expect me to wait even longer than usual.

Why oh why was I stopped from self injecting when it is so difficult to get an appointment for when the injection is due. Why cant surgeries show how to SI? It would make such a big difference to us and save the surgeries a lot of money on wages.

I told my surgery that either I wanted my b12 as a prescription to self inject or an appointment to receive one from the nurse, but that going without was not an option. They found me an appointment.

Sounds like a good idea. Thanks.

They can teach you to inject yourself. That's what I did.

They have lots of patients that inject themselves with other drugs.

I'll see what they say to this. Thank you.

Thank you. Seems we're having similar treatment. Hope this is resolved quickly.

I understand that with covid vaccines they will be a bit busier but as you said they should teach us to self inject so they dont have to do it for us
