Hi, I’m in Ireland getting B12 injections since age 35 - (20 odd yrs) changed my life for the better. I have read that Methycobalamin is the best form ofB12 to take but I have been unable to get it in Ireland or the UK or in Europe (tried France Spain, Portugal and Germany). Looking at the forum it seems to be in USA. Is it possible to get it posted from there? and is cost prohibitive ? Thanks in advance

Not sure why you would want to change the form of b12 that is working for you? Some have reported bad reactions to methylcobalamin .

I would look into that if hard to obtain anyhow

If you really want to try Methylcobalamin, I’ll give you the information . I tried it , but found it no better than Hydroxocobalamin. But I can understand you wanting to try it . You can get it from a small manufacturing chemists in Munich Germany called Arnika . You can email them on manufaktur@arnika-apo.de They have packs of 10 1 mg x1ml ampoules and packs of 10 5mgx 1ml ampoules . You can phone them on +498945246869 ( they all speak English .) You pay by PayPal in advance and then they send the ampoules . Methylcobalamin is certainly double the price of Hydroxocobalamin.

There is no reason why methylcobalamin should be better than hydroxocobalamin - ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articl... - and many reasons why it is worse. It is more difficult to source, it is far less stable (needs to be kept in the fridge), it is more expensive and it is way more likely to give side effects.

I tried methylcobalamin once. It made me feel so bad that I gave away the rest of the ampoules.
