Hiya all, could anyone give me any info on how often I should self inject, I have 3 monthly injections by docs but it’s literally makes a difference for about a week, my hands and feet are so painful, metallic taste in mouth is grim and I’m currently receiving biological treatment for crohns, so I have iron infusions regular so it’s definitely my PA symptoms I’m presenting, I feel shocking but docs aren’t helping, please please help 😭😭

First, tell your doc you need it more frequently. Tell him to look in the BNF, where he will find the new guidelines (well, they're two years old now) that says he is allowed to give you jabs every 8 weeks.

If you decide to go down the route of self-injection, you need to find a frequency that keeps your symptoms at bay. I would start with once a week, because that's when your symptoms are reappearing. Stick with that for a month then try every two weeks. If symptoms start returning then make the injections more frequent.

Thankyou very much, I have asked the doctors on a few occasions and he said he can’t do nothing, tells me it’s all to do with crohns diagnosis and it’s not his field🤨I’m happy self injecting and not having to beg and fight for the docs to listen and understand, I appreciate your advice ☺️
