Pernicious Anaemia patients have low /no stomach acid due to the intrinsic Factor antibodies that destroy the Parietal cells which produce the intrinsic factor and stomach acid ., both of which are needed to absorb vitamin B12 . For them , It’s a help to drink diluted apple cider vinegar etc with a meal ,to assist in the absorption of other vitamins and minerals, but it won’t help with absorption of vitamin B12 in Pernicious Anaemia patients , as the Intrinsic Factor is also needed .

As we age , the production of stomach acid is curtailed , so such non P.A. patients can certainly benefit their absorption of B12 by taking an acidic drink with meals e.g. diluted apple cider vinegar , lime juice , lemon juice This can help in the absorption of B12+other vitamins and minerals .

If the the deficiency of stomach acid is severe, ( Hypochlorhydria) Betaine Hydrochloric Acid with pepsin capsules can be helpful . ( obtainable from Amazon) Google for instructions for how to use them with meals . Greater dose required for meat protein .

It t can do you no harm to drink diluted apple cider vinegar with meals , , so it’s worth trying anyhow . You can do the bicarbonate of soda test ( google to read about this) to see if you are low on stomach acid .

Do you know the reason for your B12 deficiency ? If it is dietary , I.e. you do not eat meat , fish or dairy products , then the best thing to do to raise your b12 level is to take b12 tablets .

Parasitic infestation is also a reason ( eating raw fish can cause this , or improperly smoked salmon). can be treated with drugs .

If you have a normal stomach acid level I do not think that apple cider vinegar will help a B12 reading ,

Yes, I take it (diluted) every day with my evening meal in particular and find it removes the stomach pain associated with eating completely. Pure (that is, undiluted) orange juice can also be helpful, as is diluted lime or lemon juice. As Wedgewood notes, it doesn't assist with the absorption of B12 but does help with digestion and for me anyway assists with the digestive process all the way through.
