So I managed it at last but my thigh aches loads and bit panicky I put it in too deep or wrong place. What’s the worst that can happen?!

You’ve did great so don’t worry about things.next one will be even easier you’ll still be apprehensive but now you know it’s not as bad as you thought and by injection 6 you’ll be an old hand at it,well done xx
Yes well done. The more you can relax the easier it will become . My arm aches more if I'm tense when the nurses does it.
I do sc at home

Can be a number of things:
1) B12 ampoules kept in fridge ? Did you warm it up in your hands before injecting? B12 is thicker when cold, which can be painful.
2) Depressing syringe too fast ? That can also hurt. Slowly and evenly is better.
3) Third and most likely: being too tense: when you think you have relaxed your muscles, relax them even more !
Tense leg muscles can be like injecting through brick and tense arms or shaking hands make smooth injection difficult. I was absolutely rubbish at it for quite a while.
The worst thing that happened to me ? It was very early on and I hit a blood vessel without realising so when I retracted the needle after, a spurt of blood arced high over my bed ! Luckily it lasted only a few seconds and only happened once- unfortunately I had chosen that day to demonstrate process to partner !
Dramatic, but painless.
Keep going and well done !
