Shielding or going back to work?

Good morning,

I hope everyone is safe and well.

Just wondering. I work as a teaching assistant in a school. I have been working from home since lockdown began. This week, however, year 10 and year 12 had to go back so they are urging staff to come to work. Despite the fact that I am diagnosed with Pernicious Anemia and currently being tested for Type 2 Diabetes, they say my conditions don't require me to shield. I am stressed beyond measure and my anxiety is sky high! Is there a reason for me to shield, what are the guidelines for PA?

Thank you!

Stay safe! xx

As long as you are receiving the correct treatment for Pernicious Anaemia

(i.e. sufficient injections to keep away symptoms of P.A. ) you are not a vulnerable person . Please don’t stress yourself .

I don't even know..

I managed to convince my Gp to give me the shots monthly. But my symptoms come back after a couple.of weeks.

Now I'm really battling insomnia!

If your symptoms come back after a couple of weeks , you need injections more often . I need weekly injections , so I self-inject to keep well . Have you considered this ? It’s so cheap and convenient !

I have tried self injecting, I've done it for a while. Will probably have to try it weekly and see how I fell. Thanks for your replies.
