So i went to have my first jab last night the nurse was lovely and was concerned about my symptoms but when i asked what was happening with the jabs she said you have 6, 3 a week ect then that's it go back in a year for another test. Can i ask is this normal practice when you have neurological symptoms? I need to know what to say to the dr on Thursday evening if it's needed
Updated post with my results:
My results are:
1st Serum vit B12 level: 184 pg/mL {191.0-663.0}
2nd Serum vit B12 level:: 175 pg/mL {191.0-663.0)
Serum Folate: 9.7 ng/mL {2.4-26.8)
Does anyone know what this means?
Thanks in advance for any advice. xx

It certainly isn't best practice or in line with current guidelines if you are based in the UK.
treatment should be 3x weekly until symptoms stop improving (review at 3 weeks) then maintenance shots ever 2 months - no need to retest unless think treatment isn't being complied with
You are without a doubt B12 deficient and folate is at the lower end of the normal range. Follow Clivealive's advice and ask your Dr to explain the most likely cause. If for example the cause is inflammation, if this is not treated your B12 will most probably sink again.
Hope your ok Dee215 i have a list & my partner coming to see the dr tomorrow i will make them understand & not brush it under the carpet i am so worried about my neuro symptoms i really hope the damage is curable as i need my energy, memory, speech, and balance to come back it's so worrying knowing that drs are so blasé about it when it could get so serious.
Keep you chin up & keep in touch hope you get sorted soon xx
