I got my blood test result back that included intrinsic factor and doc told me b12 levels were high but I'm not happy as feeling symptoms now tired painful joints irritable intrinsic factor was ok don't know what to do I'm taking a supplement once a day but think going to try self injecting does anyone know if you can buy smaller amounts than 100 ampoules as worry they would go out of date before they were used. Also please advise which companies you have been able to order with from Germany. Thanks. Kind regards and best wishes.

I was only able to find the 100 ampules from Bodfeld. It was inexpensive. However, the shipping to the USA was about $60 which was the same cost of the actual supplies.

In view of your high B12 results have you explored other possible causes for your symptoms? Thyroid, vitamin D, iron etc?

Is there a particular reason you feel that B12 is the cause?

I’m not saying it can’t be a B12 problem as the intrinsic factor test is notoriously unreliable and there is such a thing as ‘functional deficiency’ but it may be worth exploring other possible causes.

If you had a look at the Thyroid UK forum, you might see how many have been told their thyroid is fine. A TSH test result within the reference interval is not sufficient. Yet that is all most of us get. If that is all you had, then there is plenty of room for looking further.

You can buy in packs of 10 from Versandapo more expensive than buying 100 as it’s about 8.50 for 10 And about 69.00 For 100 (euros) plus postage.

How high is high?

If the supplements you've been taking have raised your B12 levels to a decent level then there is no point in trying injections.
