Still trying to get functioning. I'm trying g a new multivit aimed at post menopausal women. I got it as only multi vit I could find with a low folic acid of 100mcg . Dont know where to start taking them individually unless I have s blood result for that vitamin like i do for d3. My folic acid level always been okay.
It also has low iron but I'm taking iron separately. It has 50mcg b12 per tablet too.(why did i not find this ? 5 years ago?)
My question is it seems to have a very high vitamin E 50mcg. Doess anyone know if this can be detrimental at all? You are supposed to take 2 tablets so double those numbers. I'm taking 1000 iu d3 separately with k2 50mcg. Ive also tried again 500 wild nutrition b12 methylcobalamin as I'd bought so mush stuff a year ago. Still dont think I absorb the tablets. Still dont think methy suits my. Am also trying b12 injections every 10 days. Weekly I couldn't cope with extra symptoms and a toothache on top. This reduces my trips to the surgery to every 3 weeks with a SC self injection inbetween.(I will have the odd 2 weekly to keep that ) May be too early to say but my Initial thoughts was the SC has a more subtle improvement which I found easier to manage . As last IM okay but lost 2 days. One before I seemed to react to badly? I now think overwhelmed as different nurse technique. Wow did it get inti my system quickly. Only time I've felt 'wired' nausea tinnitus +++and a whole lot more.
Any thoughts please . Also my vision down again and skull tightness all the time. Nerve pain in my head continues. Less headaches but more off balance. Tried tv for 2 mins. Ashen and sharp pains at the back of my head. Last tried in Feb. So irritating .
Some flowers too before the next lot of hail destroys them.

Sorry you are still struggling. I am no expert, so cannot advise on what vitamins to take. When I was really ill, I had advice from a nutritionist and she told me what to take.
My major problem is poor balance, which is worse when I overdo things. I practiced yoga for many years and still do what I can on my own at home. Perhaps, some gentle floor exercises may help ease the pain and disturbed vision.
Hi Nackapan sorry to hear your struggling.can I recommend a good book for you that might help explain things effecting your body and ease your fears a bit.
Dr Joseph Chandy book called Vitamin b12 Deficiency in Clinical Practice available on amazon just over £6.
He’s a wonderful GP who s penalised for trying to help his patients.
I’ve just started to read this and there’s so much useful information for patients suffering from this horrible affliction, stay safe and well hope that toothache has disappeared,it may not even be toothache as we tend to clench our jaw a lot with this which can cause migraine or trigmenial neuralgia which can feel just like toothache. Xx
Yes I do get alot of jaw and head and face pain. I think may be occipital neuralgia or similar, as pains from back of neck over.
This is definitely toothache as took a while to localise to one tooth and cant eat on it! I had pureed rhubarb from the garden and apple with custard yesterday. A straw is useful too.
I know what you mean though as I've thought toothache before but it was all my teeth aching !
Yes I've had all sorts of headaches . Neurologists differed on what sort??
The migrain sort have lessened thank goodness. They could go on for days.
The dentist did say I've started to grind my teeth. I'm bot surprised pain does that.
Thank you I will have a read when I can.
At present the writing disappears from the right on a book. ??I'm trying to find ways. This phone is small and dimmed with anti blue light i can manage
Lockdown has been awkward for everybody but it seems worse when you are not well.
I put off going for my injection to my cost. So now have start from square one again. Seriously considering doing s/i because of the uncertainty of the things at the moment.
Don’t put it off cocoa if you can do it go for it.read my posts and you’ll see what an absolute coward I was dithering over self injecting, after I had a few pep talks on here I plucked the courage up to do it,this will be my 4th self inject today, I’m not going back to that dark place and risking more injury to myself and I’m so grateful for the wonderful people here giving me that advice when I needed it,even the lovely Paul Robinson took time out his busy schedule to support me and give me advice I’ll always be grateful.Go for it I’ll keep doing this loading for another two weeks then try reduce and if I get symptoms back I’ll revert to every other day.I feel very positive and in control now thank you my friends here xx
Yes that is what I'm doing. SI inbetween going to the surgery .
I've done it twice now sc.
Couldnt face IM at home.
Sorry you back to square one missing your injection.
I find the surgery a safe environment. I wear gloves to open doors . The nurse last time had upgraded from a mask to a plastic Visa. I got bruised . I dony think you can see as well though the plastic !
You also gi in one at a time.
Far safer than any food shop.
Yes Queens will have a backlog. I should be quite near the top when they resume appointments.
Had a look in my old "Questions you have ...Answers You Need: Vitamins and Minerals" book.
Says vitamin E has only one role - as an antioxidant. "Plays a crucial role in normal nerve formation". Also can help to prevent heart disease.
NOTE: It does say not to take E without GP's consent if taking anticoagulants.
Signs of vitamin E deficiency (interesting list) in adults: lethargy, apathy, inability to concentrate, loss of balance, staggering gait, anaemia.... sound like anyone you know ?
It says that natural sources are sunflower oil, almond/hazelnut oil, wheat germ.
RNI for women: 8mg (12 iu), men: 10 mg (15 iu). Most people don't reach this apparently.
Possible toxicity problems? : For adults, little evidence of harm at doses of less than 1,000 iu daily.
So looks like 2x 50mcg (1mg) isn't that much. An eighth of daily requirements.
Bear in mind though that this is an old book - 1993 - and a lot can change in 30 years.
Still, I think you are safe.
Sorry to hear you are having more problems. Toothache alone is hard to bear without the problems with headaches and vision.
I had trouble with my teeth when at my worst, infections hard to fight. Lost one and impaired healing after. Still gritting - no reason.
Do you think a heart check a good idea? In the future.
The dose ive got is 50mg vit E per tablet . In Lamberts FEM45+ multivit.says 2a day. As lower folic acid.
I got a load of vits from Many places as you do when trying to get well. Over
A year ago.
Folic acid 400mcg (my daughter has that as my folate fine. )
B12 in so many forms Sub lingual when I was I initially told told i had to wait 3 months for b12 injection (j didnt)
Boots own. Tesco's own.
Wild nutrition 500mcg b12
Obviously alternating
Luton and zeaxanthin optician thought useful. . Viobiotics
Before getting ill I took vitamin D 3 and vit. C Holland and barrett
I assumed i was a absorbing what i needed from a very mixed good diet!
Iron as well.
I do have days just with vit. D and spartone.
Mine field.
I've never had so many painkillers in my life. I now realise just how well I used to be and what one takes for granted.
I had a yearly blood test for cholesterol I requested . Oh my I wish b12 was on the blood forms . Or they included it on the 50+ health check. Alsk on a standard blood check at any age. Then everyone would have s baseline as all so different .
