Intermittent GI bleeds with Atrophic Gastrititis?

Does anyone here that has Atrophic Gastritis have occasional GI bleeds? I suffer from them and it sometimes puts me in the hospital for blood transfusions if my Hemoglobin drops too low. Here in the USA, they won't give blood unless Hgb is less then 7 and I can't seem to get mine higher than 8, even after blood and iron treatments, so it doesn't take much to throw me over the edge. Just looking for similar stories or suggestions. Thanks all.

The only time I've had a bleed is when I've taken a lot of ibuprofen for arthritis.

Thanks. I avoid that stuff like the plague since my kidneys are barely hanging on as it is. 😞

I have atrophic gastritis, a hiatus hernia together with an epigastric hernia. The results of my endoscopy didn't look too promising in fact I posted the photos on here. It was the photo of my dudenum that concerned me which looked as if I had a bleed.

It has been a very lengthy process to try and get a diagnosis to say the least. I shall be seen by a gastrologist next month . Any advice on what I should request in regard to testing would be appreciated.
