Is this possible

Hi all I had my first ever b12 injection at 9am Tuesday morning from the practice nurse.

I took a quarter melatonin tablet which gp gave me script for on Tuesday too just to help me get a sleep pattern established again as advised by endo.

I slept quite well last night still woke a couple of times but this time not soaking wet with sweat and chills.

I felt quite refreshed when I did wake compared to usual ,I’d no nausea or dizziness when I got up at 7am to go to the bathroom, that’s the first time for a long long time.

Today I went out did a food shop and sat in the sun for ten minutes beside a lovely lake.I wasn’t exhausted when I got home ,I wasn’t nauseous or dizzy like I usually am ,ive had no hot sweats or flushes today, not one and I actually feel much calmer today.

Is it possible that one injection can have such an impact and on me or is it wishful thinking, has anyone else had such a quick noticeable difference? Am I fantasising lol xx

It can have that much of an effect!

I feel almost mean saying this but it is good advice to be careful to give your body time to heal every cell and don't over do things - enjoy feeling better without running around to much just yet!

As the damage from the deficiency heals it may use up other resources so you will probably benefit from taking a broad spectrum multivitamin and mineral supplement and getting extra folate, potassium, magnesium, iron and vitamin D, ideally from your diet.

Wishing you steady and continuing progress!

Thank you for your reply deniseinmilden.

I’m shocked but really pleased you’ve confirmed it I thought I was going gaga lol.

I’ve been supplementing with b12 multi b vit d / k2 spray for around 3 months now as I was low on that too and occasional magnesium so that was good advice thank you.

I’m only going to do a short walk now for exercise and fresh air in the same area ,so I can sit and rest again ,it made such a difference being able to do that yesterday.

I’ve got another injection tomorrow so instead of dreading it like I usually do I’m looking forward to it and like you say I’ve no intention of getting “superwoman” syndrome lol I fully plan to laze as much as possible to get the healing benefit.thanks so much again xx

I wonder if you are getting more benefits than some people do because you have topped up your other things first: it would make total sense...

I hope everything goes well again today - I'm sure it will!

Morning Denisemilden. You could be right there.

It’s funny because yesterday I felt flat as a pancake when I woke, unlike the previous 2 days where I’d felt a bit more energised and more positive and I’m the same flat today.my breathing feels laboured again that was the first thing I’d noticed had improved after that first shot but it’s back to where it was before. Same with the dizziness, that’s always my biggest concern due to previous fall history.

I think it’s safe to say at this point I must have really needed the b12 injection because I felt no different after months of the sublingual b12.yet felt lots of small changes with the shot.

I’m going for my second one at 9.30 so it’ll be interesting to see the results this time it’s quite fascinating isn’t it lol.

Enjoy your day and take care xx

That sounds perfectly normal. I just hope they carry on giving them to you as you need them.

I - and lots of others - need more jabs than they are prepared to give people so hundreds, if not thousands, of us buy our own ampoules and injection kit and do our own jabs as and when we need them.

But there are some people who do well on the standard protocol and others who are allowed more jabs at their surgery so don't worry about it - I'm just letting you know that there are a range of options and from now on you should be able to look forward to a better quality of life. x

Many thanks again your advice is very much appreciated.ill plod away until this loading shot scenario is done then it’s three monthly after that so if I feel I need topped up on a more regular basis I will definately self inject,I have all the kit here to do it.

Take care xx

Oh wow - good for you!

That's fantastic and means I will get on with my day knowing that you will be OK, rather than worrying that you might be another one who has to fight the system.

Superb! Thank you! 😎
