Folate and Ferritin: Hi I have PA and... - Pernicious Anaemi...
Folate and Ferritin
Discuss with your doctor.
I benefited from raising ferritin levels. Mine 46 now . I shake less. I've read any thing below 50 can cause symptoms. I take Spartone . Chelated iron solgar and advised from the doctor ferrous fumerate I alternate now. Will see what next blood test says. I took a lower dose of ferrous fumerate than prescribed as it was mixed with folic acid and in a higher dose. I difnt tolerate it. Si discussed with pharmacist. And bought a lower dose before I could get back to gp. My levejd were 'normal' but not my ' normal' if you've any old results that would show your 'normal' my ferritin used to be 61.
I took folic acid at the recommended dose. 400mcg. I didbt need as much as raised folate off the scale. Others need that as a maintenance dose. They will usually wait 3 months to retest . Go by that.
There have been many discussions on vitamin supplements recently on here.
Oc course all better from diet. It's just a matter of knowing what yoh csn absorb.
Vit c with meat . Any iron away from caffeine ti absorb.
